Sorry another question. Trying to take advantage of Black Friday sales, what kind of school shoes is accepted in nygh? Must it be all white or mostly white or any colour? And should it be track shoes that can be used for PE, or Bata type school shoes?

NYGH accept ALL white shoes only. No visible branded logo name is allowed. Track shoes (can be coloured) can be used only for CCA purposes/or school outdoor events whereby school will send emails to inform students. Eg. Sports Meet, etc. That means your dd is required to wear white shoes during school hours, and only change back to track shoes after school curriculum hours, when she has to attend her sports' CCA (if she opt for sports).

Thank you very much. First to Bata, then to school (if you are a certain age, you will remember this).

ALL-white shoes...hmm... so those Converse white shoes with 1 red line around them are not allowed?

Hi All, can I ask what is the number of PE shirts/shorts actually needed per week? Where would we normally get CCA tees??

Earlier this year, I bought 3 sets of PE attire for my sec 1 girl. By mid June, she already lost one set of PE shirt & shorts. 😂 :slapshead:

I refused to replace the extra set and she survived with only 2 sets for the other half of the year. So I guess, mIn 2 sets.

Bookshop lady advised me to buy extra PE shorts as girls are allowed to wear PE shorts under their white skirt, I think I grabbed 5 shorts!

You know, I discourage wearing shorts under the school skirt because it forces them to sit like a lady should. Also, with the many pleats in the skirt, the amount of fabric makes the skirt very hot to wear … add the shorts and it is like an oven down there.

I came from an all girls school myself and during my time, wearing shorts underneath the pinafore uniform was against the school rules. We had prefects checking (by touching our waists) whether we had shorts on, heeheehee. Yes, it forced girls to be mindful to sit with their legs crossed !

But wearing shorts has it’s advantages, especially on “that few days” of the month, in particular if the skirt is all white.

I actually bought those anti-leak undies. The white skirt is an accident waiting to happen.

                        Hi all,

I am new here and I would like to know how parents deal with the daughter’s armpit hair, since the uniform is considered sleeveless. Do you suggest to get professional help to remove armpit hair?

                        Thank you.
