I doubt that 0.829% lesser babies is going to make much difference, unless majority of % is from your area.

I remember some months back, there is a newspaper report indicating the # of babies in each part of SIN and west part seem have the most new born but I forgot which yr is that.

ha ha...no point reading too much in it. remember that pp may move house for their kids. so just cos newborn there may not be 6 y/o in that vicinity.

2004 has the lowest birth rate in recent years…that’s why Baby Bonus was introduced. But for ‘hot’ schools, I don’t think it will mean that it is easier to get into those schools.

Now we have to compete with PRs and newly minted S’pore citizens. I guess that’s why the govt has to control the number of applications to be PR/SC now.

          Hi all

not sure if i should stick to De La Salle (DLS) phase 2C <1km (subject to balloting) or rent a place at farrer to ballot (chances higher than DLS) at Nanyang Pri under phase 2C <1km.

i was from Nan Chiau (Pri.1 to 3) but i live at CCK so not possible to send my son there…

sigh… i will feel bad if my son cannot get into DLS, I will send him to Bt. Timah Pri. under phase 2C supp.

any advice if i should try Nanyang or stick to DLS?

          many thanks!

Please do not take the past results as gospel truth because there are too many variables that can change.

Just note that if you fail at 2C, 2C supp will be the less popular schools. So that's a risk you have to take. I can only say pray very hard.... 🙏 :?

              so just stick to DLS?

actually i tot it is ok to go any school cos if my DS can excel in his study, i can just transfer to a good school (is it easy to transfer?). If DS cannot excel, then just stay put 😉 guess the regn date is getting closer… i think a lot again…

Transfer may not be easy as it depends on few factors; vacancy, deemed good enough by school, etc

And transfer of school can be unsettling for the child too.

It is natural to be thinking a lot as the dates draw close, it just show that you care for your child.

P1 registration is very near…I just received the P1 registration booklet from kindergarten today.

                  Osakachan,
Schools available for 2C supp are usually not popular.
If you are going for 2C, then check out statistics for schools which require balloting within 1km like Nanyang and Southview. At least you get a rough idea wat balloting was like for past 2 years. All the best.

                        Hi Osaka,

We are facing the same dilemma, but you are lucky in the sense that you are using your own add & is >1 km to the school. However, pls look for a backup school as in case cos' DLS is quite popular.
