Appeal to higher COP will confirm get the reply first:
May I know if appeal to higher COP school will get the outcome first since this is a musical chair?
- Rejected due not meeting COP.
With regard to appeal-must-meet-COP, I believe this is the 3rd (Consecutive) year that MOE is issuing the directive. Therefore, don’t expect any surprises. -

I believe weiwei816 meant to ask if schools with higher COP will release the appeal outcome before schools of lower COP.

Notwithstanding, those who will receive the news first will definitely be those who don’t meet COP. -
Yes, Anxious.Dad understood me correctly. Sorry for didnt make it clearly.
I meant if Top school (>250) will release appeal result so vacancy is avail in higher COP school (230+ to 240+), follow by mid COP school (210+ to 220+) since this is a musical chair? As High COP student needs to vacant the seat before border line student takes their seat? Or school can create a few more seats and "squeeze" them in? Of course, I meant for appeal who are meeting school COP. -

The musical chair takes place simultaneously. Nonetheless, all things being constant, it’s easier for mid tier or lower tier schools to release appeal result first. Most of them don’t receive more than a handful of appeal. Thus, if there’s an additional place made available for whatever reason (student overseas, going to SSP, etc), they can make a decision much quicker.

Ok, thanks Floppy! Waiting for appeal result …

not sure if anyone asked this question before, i juz wonder why there are vacancies in the first place. I understand there might be a very small number of students who go overseas or withdraw for some reasons, but doesn’t seem like significant enough to generate a torrent of appeals. Also doesn’t seem likely tat the school can deliberately hold back some vacancies n release them after S1 posting exercise.
-
Yes, I also wonder where those vacancies arise. Not refering to those go overseas last minute, hence create vacancies that type.
Does it mean that before S1 posting MOE computer run,
those highly popular schools in demand like A, H and R family kind of set aside some seats Not meant for S1 posting by MOE, so that students can appeal ?
Otherwise, why still allow people to appeal, still comtinue to accept appeal, thus giving people the wrong impression as though still got vacancies remain behind, un-consumed ?
