If I've ever thought girls from RGS are mainly a bunch of \"mean girls\", I was totally wrong. DD entered RGS this week at yr 2, and found the girls in her class absolutely wonderful and friendly and ... just plain normal. I like it during the orientation to hear the principal emphasise \"sisterhood\" again and again during her speech. Maybe the claws and fangs will come out when they get transferred to RI for year 5 & 6 when suddenly everyone wants to be the alpha female, but these girls in RGS that she meet in school and the older girls that I met personally myself during orientation day are anything but snobbish. RGS is a great school.

My DD is in Y2 this year and I can tell you that most of the girls in her class is pretty normal, not too different from any other 14 yr old kid in other schools.
Hope she enjoys herself as much as possible and make more friends along the way

Ultimately, it is the child that needs to understand more than the parents. So I don't attend at all. But I am sure there are parents who wants to be aware too.

There are parent meeting sessions in coming weeks btw. And a parent conference too. From the detailed circular, I have the impression that the new P has all lined up throughout the year for all levels. This is a good start.

For RGS, everyone has to do o level mother tongue so that they don have to do MT in Year 5 and 6.

It has to be Higher MT at O level to be exempted from MT at Y5. And unless things have changed, not all girls take HMT.

Only if they pass HMT at O levels. If they don't pass, or aren't satisfied with their grade, or only took MT at O levels, they still have to take H1 MT in Year 5.
