Bukit Timah Plaza #4 there's a pushcart permanently selling. Blk 275 Bukit Batok East Ave 4 'Very Good Copy' stationary shop sells them too. Reminder: Primary 6 Chinese this year change textbook syllabus. 2019 papers are based on previous syllabus. Unless we teachers re-set them personally.

Hi, need opinion on this.


Ds told me that he feel that the Maths tuition is very boring. The tutor is not engaging and merely just teach and teach. He asked me whether it is possible to stop.
At this point in time with only 7 months to PSLE, i am rather nervous to change tutor. I asked myself whether I can teach since i have been coaching him all these years. There are some problem sums that I am not sure how to do them. But most of them I can do it. If I were to teach, what materials is good to instil the concepts?

Is it ok to be honest with the tutor and tell her to make the lesson more interesting or engage more with ds?

Does your son's Math results improve with the tutor's coaching? If no, then better change tutor, no more time to waste. If yes then I think it warrants keeping the tutor. Maybe you can check with your son why he feels the tuition is boring. Is it because the questions are too easy, not stimulating enough for him? Or are the questions too difficult that he feels lost? Then feedback to the tutor, hopefully she can adjust her teaching methods to suit your son better.

Is the priority PSLE for your household? If the tutor's objective is the same, she is preparing your child for PSLE, your child should share same goal, whether interesting or not. Set objective and achieve, Focus on Goal and not on process.
