Anyone in the middle of doing PV for the P1 registration this year?
I’m wondering with the current virus situation how’s the schools going to continue with it. I’m just half way with my hours.

Maybe u can ask the school to reassign you to temperature checking roles...Take over the workload from the teachers and admin staff...

Do u have the email, of the Head-of-PV, in the school u are currently volunteering ?

Write to this person in charge, ask him / her if the PV duties still continue to remain or have all been cancelled, in view of Wuhan virus. The officer in charge will reply u officially, what's going to happen

Anyone received any notification for interview for PV at Raffles Girls Pri Sch? I am still waiting and fingers crossed...

Call up Rgps school, ask Admin to direct u to speak to the officer in charge of PV, or get hold of this person in charge email contact, find out whether they cancel PV this year, in view of Wuhan virus epidemic

If cancel this year,
your child can still apply to some other primary schools instead, or if she is SC and stay more than 2 km from Rgps, can join the balloting, if u still keen

Given that schools aren't being shutdown and students are still going to school as per normal, albeit with some precautionary measures in place, most PV opportunities should still be available, e.g. traffic warden / control, librarian. While there may be less opportunities for crowd control or being a helper in mass scale event like sports day, founder's day etc, it shouldn't affect most PV likelihood of clocking the required hours.

There are PV and PSG roles like reading to the kids, chaperoning them on Learning Journeys, this kind of duties will be affected. U need to be proactive to contact the school to fulfill your hours. Don’t wait or hope for someone to remember and contact you. Even less hope for MOE to reduce the 40-hour requirement just for you.
