Yes, we still do so long as kids are well. They stay at home if they are unwell. There is no change in this practice for us.

Not just enrichment centres, I notice banks, Toa Payoh Library etc also need to register and take temperatures. Good to take precaution as we are in DORSCON Orange.


But how come some premises like HBD Hub still free for all? No need take temperature or register names. Heavy human traffic leh with large crowds in confined space all waiting to do transactions. HDB under Lawrence Wong?

It was reported that Cases #50, #55 and #65, form a family cluster but no other link, infected from unknown source.


Yesterday I noticed cases #66, #68 and #70, also form a family cluster though they are linked to AOG.

Coincidentally, both families stay at Mei Hwan Drive. Could there be a link with the virus spreading between neighbors? Sorry, just kaypoh, cos quite a coincidence. No wonder need to sterilize lift buttons etc.

inside Mei Hwan Drive, there are some private condo block nearby, as well as some private landed property. Not 100% are landed property

maybe not immediate neighbours, but can be nearby, maybe one case inside the condo, another case inside landed property, something like that is possible ?


anyway, besides Mei Hwan, many other areas also hit liao

Instead, trained our child to self-study Chinese at home, because

Do NOT undermine the seriousness of this Wuhan virus. In the event the student attend tuition centre got hit, the rest of the household family members also will be monitored closely.

Yes, boring to stay at home, but what to do ?

Besides,

1) do Not know how long this nightmare is going to end, in case it may drag on for months and months, without vaccine medical Science solution yet ready to solve crisis

2) avoid the risk of getting infected, by fellow tuition classmates, in case classmate(s) sick also turn up for tuition lessons, hide behind the face mask, because their parents had already paid up one Term tuition fees in advance, dont want to waste $ already been paid up out front. Eg. $70 paid up per Secondary Chinese tuition, per lesson 2 hours duration

Besides, when students wear a face mask, cannot tell whether student just take precaution to wear mask, or genuine sick just eaten panadol to suppress fever, before coming for Tuition lesson, since so far do not see Tuition centre taking the body temperature of students, who attended lessons. Only schools asked students to take their body temperature, but not tuition centre. Also, students who are virus carrier need not bear any sick fever sympton neither.

3) time to train child towards independent self study, instead of keep relying on tuition, tuition all the time

4) in the event if Singapore were to shift from Orange zone into Red zone one day and
if MOE were to suddenly broadcast shut down all Secondary schools in Sg because enter Red zone, by then, if this were to take place,

at least the child have already got started, been trained how to self independent study on their own, for at least Chinese one subject, instead of keep relying on Chinese tuition Teacher, all the time. eg. Like without Tuition Tr, cannot survive, will die like that, or don't know how to study Chinese on their own.
The child must start from somewhere, how to get started, to study on their own, independently

Parents whose children are preparing for National exam this year 2020, whether sit for Psle or for O level or for A level :

Have you ever considered, or occurred to you that, food for thought,
in the event if Sg one day were to shift into Red zone, and Moe were to shut down All schools,
besides staying at home do self e learning, how are you going to prepare your child, for high stake exam, this year ?

Yes, Serendipity, like our fellow forummers posted... We had been informed of the precautions centres would take, & upon arrival we can also see these extra precautions in place. If there are concerns (any known LOAs/ quarantines?), I'd clarify with the centre directly. Plus, if your kid does not mind the mask, & you've some/home-made ones to spare, you could get her to use it during lessons (cos of the air-conditioning & variable personal standards)? Take care.
