        1. The Class of 2019 has achieved the best results since the revision of the JC curriculum in 2006.

        2. This cohort scored an unprecedented mean UAP of 85.5. 6 out of 10 scored 3 H2 Distinctions and above.

        3. 25% scored a perfect UAP of 90. Amongst them, one student offered an exceptional 13 Academic Units (AUs).

        4. Among the 15 subjects that posted improvements, the following subjects set new records:

        a) 5 out of 10 scored distinctions for H1 General Paper
        b) 7 out of 10 scored distinctions for H2 Biology
        c) 6 out of 10 scored distinctions for H2 China Studies in Chinese
        d) 7 out of 10 scored distinctions for H2 Computing
        e) 6 out of 10 scored distinctions in H2 Economics
        f) 6 out of 10 scored distinctions for H2 Geography
        g) 7 out of 10 scored distinctions for H2 History
        f) All scored distinctions for H2 Translation.

        The following subjects sustained excellent performance:
        a) 8 out of 10 scored distinctions for H2 Art
        b) 7 out of 10 scored distinctions for H2 Chemistry
        c) 7 out of 10 scored distinctions for H2 Knowledge and Inquiry
        d) 7 out of 10 scored distinctions for H2 Literature in English
        e) 8 out of 10 scored distinctions in H2 Mathematics
        f) 7 out of 10 scored distinctions in H2 Physics.

        5. Our students displayed tremendous resilience and demonstrated commitment and dedication in our year-long Centennial Celebrations.

        • Close to 800 students have been conferred the Hwa Chong Diploma, setting a new record;
        • They took on 100 Service Learning Projects and engaged over 150 beneficiaries/ organizations;
        • They contributed to the 56 World Championship Titles (2006-2019) and;
        • They took home 55 Top 3 titles at the Interschool Sports Championships and 7 Certificates of Distinction at the Singapore Youth Festival Presentation.

        6. To date, 7 Hwa Chong students have been offered provisional Public Service Commission Scholarships.

        7. As testament to the value of a Hwa Chong education, numerous offers have been made to Hwa Chong students from our local universities as well as established overseas universities. Our students also continue to be part of many prestigious university scholarship programmes.

          GCE A-Level Results Release: Class of 2019 Continues to Shine

          1 A total of 1272 students at Raffles Institution (RI) sat for the 2019 GCE A-Level Examinations, which is one of the school’s largest cohorts in recent years. This number comprises students from the six-year Raffles Programme (RP), as well as students admitted at Year 5 (JC 1) via the Direct School Admission (DSA) and Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE).

          2 The class of 2019 continues to embody the Rafflesian spirit of excellence, achieving a stellar set of results at the 2019 A-Level examinations.


          Overall Performance of the Class of 2019

          3 98 per cent of students achieved 3 H2 passes, with a pass in General Paper or Knowledge & Inquiry.

          4 56 per cent of students offering four H2 subjects scored distinctions in all four subjects. 64 per cent of students scored three H2 distinctions in their content-based subjects.

          5 363 students achieved a perfect University Admissions Score (UAS) of 90. In addition, 205 students achieved distinctions in all subjects offered, including H3 subjects.

          6 The class of 2019 achieved exceptional performances across the various subjects with 7 out of 10 students scoring Distinctions in Biology, Chemistry, Economics, Geography, Knowledge and Inquiry, and Physics. 8 in 10 students scored Distinctions for Mathematics, and 9 in 10 students scored Distinctions for Literature in English. Rafflesians did exceedingly well at the General Paper, with 57 per cent of students scoring distinctions.

          7 Overall, 577 students attained at least 6 Distinctions, 297 students attained at least 7 Distinctions, 70 students attained at least 8 Distinctions, and 3 students attained 9 Distinctions.

          8 We congratulate the Class of 2019 on their outstanding all-round achievements. We would also like to express our thanks to the RI Board of Governors, our teachers and support staff, parents and alumni. Their dedication and unwavering support have enabled RI to continue its tradition of excellence and service to the nation.

          9 The Class of 2019 has contributed significantly to the vibrant community life at Raffles. We are confident they will continue to grow in their pursuit of excellence and service, and make a positive impact on their community and society, whatever their chosen paths may be.
