Think our condition is stabilizing. We feel safer to go out now. 😓

DH says Singapore is too exposed. We are too much of a transport hub. Infected tourists come, we will be affected again. DH says maybe we should ban South Korea first, I stared at him, huh, want to ban Japan and Italy too or not? 😂

Should quarantine those who are from or have visited Japan, South Korea and Italy ASAP now. The extent and speed of community infection in these places are just astonishing.

We were too slow to react to the Wuhan cases, resulting in Singapore being the highest (beside China) at one time. Let us not repeat the mistake.

Oh, ngl2010 Realised u meant asymptomatic. No idea how to capture this that might give us the slip. Guess that’s why contact tracing is impt.
That's why social responsibility is important. Avoid crowds as far as possible.

agree, this time hope our authority can act fast ... very scared to repeat history since now we are slightly \"controlled\"
I think MOH n police also v v tired on all such tracings!

No phtthp , I would think there should be some accountability before we spout whatever bs we want to, after all we are adults.

btw, that should be toc's tag line- I can say whatever I like 😆

Unfortunately behind the keyboard, when there's anonymity, accountability & responsibility for \"free speech\" oft do not go hand in hand, regardless whether one's an adult or not 🤷

The furore over CCS's closed-door comments are mainly raised, picked on & criticized by those who would do so regardless (of what he said) - for want of something to criticize about (of what the govt is doing / not doing etc). When can't be constructive (which often takes maturity & forethought), just go into auto easy mode of criticizing - an easy-peasy way of \"spouting\" - just for the sake of having voice heard & (trying hard) to be relevant?

How many out there, can hand on heart, not say that when we heard & saw the extent of the rush on the supermarkets for rice, noodles, toilet paper etc did not  :yikes: :scratchhead: and perhaps even use equivalent if not, worse terminology to comment, behind closed doors, or even in public places!? If some of such private closed door / public comments were secretly recorded & circulated too? Any less :censored: ?

Relating to third parties, require one to speak same lingo to be on same page - how often have we amongst friends & even colleagues to get something across clearly / aptly oft paraphrase it colloquially or even use Mandarin phrases or terms to better put it across? Most Singaporeans are able to code-switch effortlessly, and that's why Singlish is uniquely Singaporean :imcool:

Reference to other countries came across to some as arrogance etc. Unfortunately to learn & improve ourselves we all know that we have to learn, adapt from others' - be it their missteps or good steps etc. How else then can one have a point of reference that \"we are not doing this, cos it didn't work in xxx's case, or we are doing / adapting it like this, cos it was effective in xxx's case\"? Especially when communicating or updating a group, in that closed door incident?

When Singapore reported high number of cases initially, criticism of all sorts were levied, that borders etc should be closed earlier, but of course such armchair critics forget (kind terminology used here) that WHO guidelines & \"bigger picture\" considerations did not warrant such closure then either. But who cares right? \"I (don't know much but) just want to criticize & have my say!\"

When Singapore promptly rolls out detect, trace & quarantine measures, and manages to \"contain\" the initial infected patients - numbers are significantly high(er) than others, who have different measures in place - but to armchair critics, again that's something to pick on!

I rather that we have stringent detect, trace & quarantine regulations etc in place, and higher detected numbers, rather than have self-regulation by individuals. Then there's no need to second guess & hope that everyone will be responsible & seek testing when they feel the need to!!?

I dare say the majority of us are appreciative and thankful that we have learnt and improved from the SARS period, and of course there's always more to learn & improve from this Covid-19 situation.

Feedback & even criticism is always essential for all to continuously learn & improve, but as it has been said - \"Criticism without a solution, is merely an inflation of the critic's ego\".
