If can consider relocate becoz of school, can also consider job change lol! Just saying ...

@Floppy we’re at airport..
@Davischew a little hard.. lol
Looking at times now... sighz

try Temasek, good chance for 2C <1km, Yu Neng 2C <1km, Ngee Ann 2C <2km
move downwards to Upper changi and bedok, take ECP/PIE directly to airport in <15min
@zac’s mum yes Mrt to airport does sound like a good idea. Will think it through thanks very much.

@monajoba thanks for the suggestions. I am not familiar with the names, will check them out!

Dear parents, I have a girl who will register P1 next year. Currently I’m looking at Ngee Ann primary school and Haig Girls school. Does anyone can give me some suggestion which one shall I choose? I’m Singapore PR and living within 2km for both schools. thank you.

If you are an SC -
both schools are good. But i will choose Ngee Ann primary, because of affliation to Ngee Ann Secondary, a good Secondary school. Haig Girls primary, although a good school, but lose out, because no affliation to Secondary school

But since you are PR, dont think Ngee Ann got chance, because many SC will ballot for Ngee Ann at phase 2C. Can call up to school, clarify if last 2 to 3 years, got any balloting chance for PR ? Unless you can join under 2B.
But first check if Ngee Ann accept any PV, under 2B. If u join under grassroot 2B, check whether your RC still accept you in time

thank you, I called Ngee Ann and they told me their PV program has finished, no more vacancy. And they said even if they still have, they only accept SC…

@phtthp May I ask - how about Tanjong Katong Pri and CHIJ Katong? How do these compare as well? Thank you

I’ll cut to the chase and save your wild goose chase. Between the two, only Haig Girls’ is a viable option (as you may have discovered yourself). PR within 2km, you stand a very good chance but there’s still a possibility of a ballot.

Two other nearby schools, which are relatively safe for PR, that you can consider are Tanjong Katong and Opera Estate.

TKPS is quite an interesting school. It has a very cosmopolitan feel because of a sizable proportion of foreign students.

CHIJ Katong is pretty much like any CHIJ school. It is affiliated to KC which isn’t too bad. Some parents like affiliation for the just-in-case scenario 6 years down the road.

You should take a look at Ngee Ann. It may be quite different from SNGS or SCGS, but is definitely more convenient to commute between the school and airport. Plus, SC < 1km is bao jiak.

@phtthp May I ask - how about Tanjong Katong Pri and CHIJ Katong? How do these compare as well? Thank you
CHIJ KC - great if you are a catholic, prefer a girl's school, holistic environment. Girls there seem to enjoy school and have great time throughout their 6yr primary life. Talked to a few girls at their open house last year, most were eloquent, quite a few Eurasians, Caucasians and Malays. There is an affiliation to CHIJ KC secondary, most girls from KC Primary end up in KC Secondary, i'm not sure if it's a good or bad thing. I think it might be the only school in the area with gymnastics.

Tanjong Katong Primary - Balloting occured for Phase 2C <2km last year, likely no chance for SPR. Many indians and Koreans from previous cohort in the school population, which means great peer pressure for local kids to spear harder.

Opera Estate - Many Caucasian in the school. Sorry, can't recall if there was balloting in 2019 for 2020 cohort for Phase 2C.

Ngee Ann - no balloting for SG >2km, all got in for 2C, no seats for 2Cs. Great school for the relax and super chilled parents, not homework. Attended alumni lunch, PSG doesn't seem to advocate much homework, not sure if it's a good or bad thing. Affiliation to Ngee Ann Secondary in Tampines which is a great school but the cut off point is pretty high. New Principal is stricter than previous. However, PSLE points doesn't seem to be that high, heard that for a certain year, 256 was 2nd highest...hmm....husband was quite speechless. Predominately Chinese cohort with good mix of indians and malay kids. Most popular CCA be CO ? try to their FB Group \"Ai Wo Yi An\" sorry, please search in chinese.

Canossa Catholic - Small unknown co-ed school in Macpherson. PSLE scores were surprisingly high but limited CCA. Every class seems to be small, 25/class. English private school setting and pretty holistic since it's in the same compound as hearing impaired school ?

Haig Girls - Small girls school that produce highly confident girls compared to KC. PSLE scores higher than KC too, perhaps due to a stricter discipline in Haig Girls?

Traffic wise, Ngee Ann and KC are pretty similar, just across the street. TKPS not bad too. Haig Girls might be a little tricky with narrow streets along JC. Haven't figured out location and traffic of Canossa yet.

Personally i'll prefer Haig Girls and Canossa Catholic, last choice be Ngee Ann
