Am not, no point being stressed over events beyond my control.

But inconvenience by work from home arrangement as I usually run errands during lunch time.

Also mentally frustrating due to lack of adult social interaction.

I have been working from home for years, so I'm fine with it. It's the cancellation of events that is irritating - so many things we planned have to be cancelled (work, personal, my kids' activities etc). After all the planning and work that went into things, and seeing other people's disappointments too, that can be hard. One of my daughters has had so many plans fall apart - as a mother, I hurt too!

Adult interaction - now that so many people are stuck at home too, I guess we can WA/Skype etc?

My DD's have already received offers for her overseas university applications. Unable to proceed with acceptance/rejection as unable to forecast the extent of the virus spread/recovery for each country. There are a couple of options - if country A cannot, then country B or country C, but need to decide on which country. Guess will just have to be patient and wait out for another month.

WA/Skype is not quite the same as meeting face-to-face for tea or lunch. Making do with it but hopefully not long-term.

Even delivery for online shopping is impacted so no retail therapy even.

We do not plan many things in advance, and our lifestyle is pretty routine. Work and home, 两点一线 with a break at year-end.
this one headache not small..when is the deadline for acceptance?

Still see S'poreans going overseas for holidays this period. Please please please 🙏 , let's not be complacent and let our guard down. Refrain from unnecessary travel and urge your family to do the same! Everyone needs to play a part!

These are probably those kiasu travelers booked holidays since last year but no possibly to forgo hefty tickets & accommodation fees that runs into thousands?

If all travels ard the world lockdown, then might possibly get refund or the like. One gains ano loose out. The airlines, hotels, restaurants, etc hv to cut staff, suffer big losses & eventually retrenchment which comes back to haunt the individuals.

Must learn to let go. Hope Hspanese learn to with 2020 Olympics too.

Not all willing to forgo thousand of dollars they paid for air tickets and hotel fees earlier. Some could have took more than half a year to save that few thousand dollars.

Remember the SAFRA dinner? Even for just $60, many uncles and aunties don’t wanna let the tickets kena forfeited
almost everyday I got to tell dd why cannot go out and play..Few times I thought should be alright la but so swiftly changed mind say cannot go..This is frustrating to me..not only virus but dengue also..yesterday I told her cannot go out to play see her so poor thing I told her I will clean the bath tub for her to play but then U turn again coz I need to meet someone shortly and have work to rush..feeling frustrated again.. today I need to run errands, will have some cooling down time during car ride..relax relax...

Try to find ways to go out - it's hard for kids to stay in all the time for so long. But choose open-air places that are less crowded. Parks etc are a possibility, or just go for walks. Help them find some active things to do - skipping, cycling etc? If you have a balcony, maybe try growing some veg, flowers etc.?

I bought 1 plant for each from Ikea few days ago..I was trying to have lesser contacts with her friends, some are from the hot spots countries..know they didnt go back but they are in Intl sch.. haha pls dont quote this post as not very nice to say that..
MKS,

we dont have much space and dds tried growing some plants from the seeds but unsuccessful and they concluded that they dont have green fingers..however, my ginger that sprouted during Dec hol still surviving so cute lor. One get cactus and another money plant as they know these have higher probability of surviving.

It’s tough having to meet deadline during times like these. Possibly they’ll allow for postponement? Hope this COVID situation clears quickly as China & SKorea able to contain. My frd’s daughter in UK was scared to stay on for her studies looking at how the govt there don’t contain or hv restrictions so she bought air-tickets even if she’s going fall behind in semester. Her life more impt. It’s tough for everyone now to keep life as usual. We need to hv brave mental adjustments.

We will just have to take it a step at a time.

Am concerned for UK as a destination too.

With so many countries in lockdown, hopefully, a clearer picture will emerge in a couple of weeks time.
