She left Carolina for Newark to find the flight engine faulty but marooned there for a sleepless night with no work done as the engineers were down with COVID. Then the hotel she was staying over cld not it out meals fast enuf as there was chaos with overwhelming passengers stranded there. They then found ano routing of flight to LA flying to Narita. Lawrence Wong just announced that the govt is considering measures against those who choose to travel overseas despite the border control measures. How about those studying overseas? Does it mean they can’t go back to uni overseas until the govt says can go back? Or, if choose to go back to uni overseas then cannot go back until permitted by the Singapore govt?
US and UK universities have all (as far as I've heard) cancelled the summer term, so students won't need to think about going back till Aug-Sep, depending on the university. The govt and the universities will reassess the situation closer to that time. For the moment, they will have to do online classes, and perhaps online/remote exams or assessments. Some universities haven't firmed up the plans yet but will probably do so within the next few weeks. I have heard that at least 1 London college has scrapped exams for 1st-year students this year. But I guess they have to make arrangements for the final-year students to take some kind of exams.

Not sure about universities in other countries.
