I have created a classroom in Google Classroom and will be adding Exam Paper Video Tutorials and other bite-sized tutorials on YouTube so students can view and do their own guided revision in their free time. (P.S. This is absolutely free!)

Objective is for students to attempt the papers on their own, then watch the videos for solutions afterwards.
These videos also serve as a guide for parents to coach their kids.

Dear all parents, I am not sure if I am asking the right question at the right place. My boy is taking PSLE this year and he is weak in chinese. At the recommendation of my friends, I enrolled him at HCL Bishan.

Literally every week, he was taught by a different relief teacher. From Jan till now, his class was taught by at least 5 to 6 different teachers and out of sudden in Feb, parents were told the permanent teacher suddenly resigned so the class was assigned another teacher. However every week, it is still different teacher.

I am very worried because this year is PSLE and if I know this is how HCL works, I will not enrol him there. It is horrible and irresponsible management at this tuition centre. How can they treat P6 class in this manner?

Anyone with kids at HCL and also face similar issues?

I feel it is too late now to switch to another tuition centre but if HCL continue to assign different teacher each week, how will the teacher/ centre be able to understand my child weakness and it will not benefit him either.

I really hope if some experts here can provide some advice. Should I engage private home tutor instead? I am really getting so nervous now. Thank you so much.

Hi, I believe due to COVID19 many native teachers are having issues returning, some on LOA, major HR issue everywhere. HCL is quite a good school in our industry. If all trainers are well trained and follow system, the person teaching shouldn't :xedfingers: impact much. Is your child disturbed by the teacher change? Are grades compromised? This HR issue don't look like it's going to resolve anytime soon. 6mths to PSLE, not too late to change.

Science MCQ…sometimes having too many choices may confuse the kids. So I taught my kids to eliminate 2 obviously wrong answer first and then focus on the remainder 2. Then u have a 50% chance of getting it right.


Some questions are pretty easy to eliminate the 2 wrong answer - example…when a range of readings is given in the 4 choices…the highest or the lowest reading is probably the right answer…the 2 readings in between can eliminate.

SEAB will set easier PSLE papers for these 2008 born, last batch of Tscore P6 students, in view of covid-19 that had caused disruption and created stressful, challenging situation

Usually the PSLE trend is one year difficult, next year easier

Well this is indeed a challenging year. I am not sure how effective is the e-learning and parents even have to pay the full tuition fee. Only HCL make it optional that if the child is joining the e-learning, it will be charged 50% of the regular tuition fee. This is more reasonable.
