Hello! as above:
For HCI year 5 and 6, I would like to find out more about the CCAs.
- is cca compulsory? - yes I think so
- if you are from nygh, will you be automatically accepted into the same cca? - no
- since there are 1200 students in each level, how big is one cca on average? - it depends and there are many ccas to choose from, but basically, no more unform groups
- will you be assigned to something you do not want (if cca is compulsory) -I think chances are low since you will be going to make a few choices?
- if you are a student councillor in nygh, will you be given a chance to run for SC in HCI? - you will still need to apply for it
- Is SC considered a CCA? yes -
Thanks Song22! So everyone needs to audition for the cca together with the JAE students after the JAE students come in? So in the first month there is no cca?

\"Contrasting\" means
Hi, thanks for your reply. May I know what is contrasting subject? Thanks
contrast between your Science & Arts subject
Example
If you are an Arts-stream student at A-level, you need to take a Maths or Science \"contrasting\" subject.
eg. take H2 Mathematics
the other way round
If you are a Science-stream student at A-level, u need to take an \"Arts\" contrasting subject.
Eg. take H2 ( Literature or Geography or History or Economics or Chinese Studies or 3rd foreign language or Higher Music or Higher Art, whichever is your strength ) -
Thanks for the reply. Very clear and detail. However , is there 2 math ( like in secondary A and E math)

Hello, I am so sorry to miss this earlier, I just saw the message
Thanks Song22! So everyone needs to audition for the cca together with the JAE students after the JAE students come in? So in the first month there is no cca?
Usually the IP students could join some open trainings at the end of the year to indicate their interest and I guess the intake still based on cca requirements / individual's talent, some may get selected even before the jae students join if they are very good. And those in the same CCA and don't want to change their CCA like track and field will probably just continue with their training
Your girl is now in Year 4?

Yes thank you for the reply. My girl is in Y4. Yes she knew about the open class where the existing nygh girls are able to attend even though they are not in hci yet. That helps give them an idea whether the cca is what they expect prior to cca selection in Y5.

Those students offered with DSA via sports to Year 5 (JC1), how will they offer the options to choose their subject combinations?
