The kids will get used to it with guidance, but will probably need parents to help with setting the schedule at first. Typing and mouse control will come with time - this is when letting them play some computer games is actually a good thing! We allowed our kids to play some games (limited time) when they were in preschool/lower primary to improve dexterity. We also got them to learn to type when in lower/mid-primary. It really helped when they started internet school in grade 7.MrsKiasu\" post_id=\"1969477\" time=\"1585779357\" user_id=\"43981:MKS, you are FTWM right? How was your HBL experience with your DD2? Can cope?
Some mums told me their P1-3 kids can’t manage the typing or mouse control or computer no mic so cannot record oral readings.
Mine spent too much time on PE homework (many videos on NAPFA stations, agility and flexibility training, even soccer tips etc etc). I should teach him to prioritize better! -

It really helped when they started internet school in grade 7.I dont know when they learn to 'type'..guess still need to look around for the buttons..dd2 coping ok if no complaints from cher that she not been finishing assigned hw lor. Agree with slmkhoo, my dds like to watch YouTube but coz most time I act dumb with tech knowledge since they were young so they need to find out almost everything by themselves.. I was quite amazed with dd1 the other day coz went to chked online on how to have another copy of WA on another tablet so that she could use it in case needed when doing her 3rd lang online lesson..well I am really quite 'dumb' in tech..i m who need the guy selling me hp to do all trf from old hp type de..
on dd2, I actually use the whatever raised by parents in the chatgrp as my check..I will ask dd, this done already or not? and yesterday I asked many times..and dd kept telling mummy, done..and those offline hw, she will tell me oh ok, I will do it.. for a parent who just need only get what needed to get done, HBL is good to me, so far for 1st day, could survive.
on recording, when dd2 needs to do it on normal days hw, I just need to make sure as much as possible not much personal thing captures at the background..so far ok. -
...... they suffer a lot of guilt when they are sick and stay home. They know how it feels like to have to handle extra classes and kids (or patients) when someone goes on MC, and how the kids or patients may not get as much supervision or attention as they should, so it's no wonder that sometimes they may ignore mild symptoms.
This is such a good sharing, Thanks slmkhoo :salute:

RIP.
One more COVID death in Singapore
If more widespread, we might soon go into total lockdown or RED. Whatever it is, we’ve gotta continue vigilance with handwashing, masks, physical distancing, develop conscious sense of social responsibility, stay united and not go panic zone. -

why sweat?
am hoping for more HBL days
So u want more or sweat coz HBL like too \"alien\" to u
after few more sessions, will not be strange thing de.
actually , i do hope for more HBL days ( if we can no need to go into total sch closure) at least few days or seperation also help in keep physical distant fr each other in sch. U know the teens will also go lunch with sch mates afetr sch ... ah yo how to distance away... it is difficult to avoid mingling when it is meal time outside sch
I thnk pri sch not so siong., my dd is ok, prob also they had been trained in learning on line frequently in sch.
Now her tuition also goole class. google meet, zoom , download n submit hw for marking using google classrom
must scan n upload- we showed her once, n she know how to uplpad her hw le - Good as she can learn to create subject folders n do own comupter filing neatly.
this morn saw my ds one- wow v siong cos he told me his e learning until 5pm, teacher live conf with students
for tutorials, later maybe got lecture tahts why long hrs etc... ,i m working now. they need to settle themselves while own self own HBL. -

Ya. Now we recognize why govt slow in closing sch. There’re list of other considerations - social costs, monetary costs, eqpt & facilities to set for for kids to continue getting edn’l engagements.

Some families with more than one child need to zoom or teleconference in with teachers, enuf rooms & privacy to do without distractions at home. There will be other kids who will fall btwn cracks & families not enuf laptop/deskstops or not even afford one. To top it, they’ll need WiFi which some disadvantaged families hv no :moneyflies: resources to subscribe.
MOE hv a load of considerations to iron out & doing step-by-step HBL before coming weeks if situation turn for worse, will go RED & shutdown. Can’t get parents all scrambling. They’ve set up computer rooms for students who need IT access & I suppose these parents hv no choice even if their kids will be exposed along the way to sch. At least for these students, the sch wld hv majority students in HBL & enable maintaining of physical distancing.
Hope everyone keep safe & keep healthy! -
Currently the P2 case (and his mother) seem to have both caught it from his father, who had gone to work, caught it from dunno where (sick colleagues? Public transport?) and brought it home to infect them.
There is no case (yet) of kids catching it from their schoolmates.
But if such a case arises, I’m sure MOE will take the next step (close that particular school)...even MOH mentioned before, won’t close all schools, just affected school only.

haha mp, I would like them at home as to me home is the safest place. sure will have more disturbances when have HBL but less worries of getting virus. I m ok coz I can arrange to go see my \"boss\" when they are in school..but that's not so much a concern also .. they are kinda used to me running errands on my own..my main duty now is ferrying them around..food they able to settle on own if I let them.
