Do you still allow your helper to go out on weekend? Mine still insist she wants to go out and argued that MOM did not state it is mandatory for them to stay at home.

Is your helper fr The Philippines? Anyway, get her to read MOM Advisory to Foreign Domestic Worker:-

      https://www.mom.gov.sg/newsroom/press-releases/2020/0325-measures-to-prevent-congregations-of-foreign-workers-and-foreign-domestic-workers

If she is out, she is not to congregate but just get her errands done quick & return home & if happen to meet frds & forget abt social distancing, “MOM will take action to disperse them as an added precaution. MOM will step up inspections on the ground. Workers who do not cooperate will have their work passes revoked.” There were WP cancelled for some alr.

Thanks Esteema. She is Philippino and I find that they are really quite stubborn. In fact, I already asked her to read this advisory from MOM and she can still say that it does not mean she cannot go out right. She also told me there are only 5 to 6 people in her usual clique of friends. Her friends’ employers allow them to go out too. You can imagine how tough it is trying to reason out with them. I hope MOM officers will do a good job in dispersing these helpers. I believe there are other employers who are in the same situation as me. If I can lock her up, I will but ...... sigh!

Yesterday just announced Singapore Cricket Club as a new cluster, this morning one Covid patient from there passed on. That’s fast.

Lee Ah Mooi cluster also the same. Just announced as a new cluster, old folk there passed on already.

For the earlier cases, the old folks appear to survive longer inside ICU, even the Wuhan uncle also recovered. Either covid-19 virus had mutated or the old folks fell sick, became breathless or coughed until very jialak then got diagnosed?

Or for earlier cases, 10 doctors looked after 1 patients, but now, the doctors all overly stretched and were burnt out?

I’ve to learn to be tough with them overnight (not my character but hv to grow up to be tough to handle). It’s their usual ruse, yr helper will tell u other eyers also allow & their frds will tell their eyers same stores just to get their ‘freedom’. If u’re fortunate enuf to explain this is a life & death issue & SG govt here trying to protect ppl fr getting COVID, some will cooperate.

Those that will not u’stand yr instructions & do not cooperate, u’ve no choice but let them go with a warning tt once MOM finds them & they get their WP cancelled it is on record & they cannot come back to SG to find jobs. No more future approval of WP. Altho it’s my belief tt they will then cooperate (no matter how reluctantly to forgo their freedom to be happy with their frds) owise they face the fate of repatriation back to Philippines which is worse! Their own President Dutetere warm the Filipinos not to go out owise he gave orders to just “shoot”. Not my words.

If after presenting these serious orders fr both govts & she still insists, I’ll suggest u prepare to go w/o her. I’ve since moved on to other countries for more cooperate helpers. I just don’t want to be stressed by all their excuses, arguments & manipulation. Plain tired out by them & I can’t focus getting on with my family needs which is my priority.

All the best to you. Hope things work out.

@ lee_yl I wld be on the same thinking that our medical team wld hv gotten more tired out. Some might be discouraged as colleagues catching the virus themselves fr constant over-exposure to the potent virus. Y’day when getting some o/s documents fr SGH for my late FIL, overheard staff conversation they’ve orders to take on 12-hour shifts. 😓 This is before LHL’s announcement for WFM & HBL for sch students till 4 May. I’m sure our medical professionals hv just as much family needs to settle whilst having to dedicate themselves to their increasing patients.

Hope the medical professionals reboot their spirit. I’m thinking of doing sth for them.

Pet shop selling pet food and optical shop will be opened. Just rushed to get supplies and was told they would be open next week. Not sure about Popular. Queued up to enter Popular to stock up on correction tape, pen refills and the art supplies few days ago. Only managed to grab 2 correction tape refill as out of stock!

                    Govt announced only essential services,

                    then can remain open.

Popular bookshop selling stationery or Assessment books or past year National exam Ten-year-series, is Not considered as an essential service. Hence, cannot open.

Those who need to buy stationery or buy Assessment books from Popular, even though MOE scraped All Mid-year school-based exam, better buy before 7 April, where Popular bookshop closed until 4 May

They still got time to buy now, today, tomorrow Sunday and next Monday, before temporary closed shop from 7 April to 4 May. After 4 May, if govt announce can open shop, parents & students still can buy

Anyway, believe most P6 parents and students taking Psle this year, would have bought Assessment books many months ago liao. Even if they purchased mountain high piled up Assessment books, if they attend tuition, they may not even have time to do from so many Assessment books, because

                        - school based HBL give school homework,

                        - tuition centre also dish out tuition homework, whether is tuition online or tuition inside face-to-face classroom,

                        - At home, students must spend time practise Past year PSLE papers 2019 to at least past minimum 5 years, or more
to familiarise themselves with Psle exam format and the "style" of questions asked

                        - At home, they still need to set aside time to practise Past year Prelim SA2 or SA1 school-based papers eg those from popular, Top schools

                        With all the above,
where got time, to still do from Assessment books ?
