I guess shops that sell sewing materials are considered non-essential! Because I do some odds and ends of sewing and mending, I usually have basic sewing materials at home. I'm just using fabric from my stash, and I had a couple of packs of elastic. Now that the instruction is to wear masks on public transport, I will make a few more for my girls as they will be out and about more once the circuit breaker period is over. One is supposed to start an internship (though date hasn't been fixed), and the other will be trying to get a job or volunteer for something.

I read that the dried wet tissues able to help as filter so I m using it with my cloth masks. You and dds may want to try.

For 2ply cloth masks, can also insert kitchen tissue towels as filter.[/quote]kitchen towel and toilet tissue also useful I read..but wet tissues dont tear I find..anyways I just wear for short period usually and dont bother to change frequently.

When I put on a mask, I am like breathless. When I remove the mask, the area of my face earlier covered by the mask is moist with sweat. Is this normal?
when outside walking I take off, only when inside building when many people around I put on.

today I walked out to buy milk. I was using the 2 ply mask from G…just cut half of the wet tissues that I left hanged dry earlier and put it on top of my mask before putting on to my face…actually can do without another insert on the cloth mask to hold the filter

This gave me ano idea! I can use the many pkts of dry wipes I bought fr Japan on previous trip as 3rd layer of changeable filters! The Japanese wipes are very strong & sturdy even when wet, that’s why I bought alot for times when I don’t bring small towels with me

I got my goggles and gloves today, from China, which I ordered via Amazon UK.

I feel a little more assured now, especially as we are getting upwards of 800plus daily deaths, here in the UK.
But, I did reuse my mask. If I bin it after each use, I’ll never have enough to use.
