Dessert & bubble tea stores taken off list of essential services

      Bad news, bubble tea fans.

The Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) has updated the list of essential food and beverage outlets after the Multi-Ministry Taskforce press conference on Apr. 21.

A number of food manufacturers and food outlets, mostly snack and dessert-based, will no longer be considered essential services.

Wonder whether kids need to shorten their June hols and go back to sch? ( a bit worried cos DD is taking PSLE this yr)

          PSLE papers set already right?

Maybe MOE can consider to bring forward June Holiday to 1st May?

Which means after 1st June, school resumes.

PSLE to take place in end November. End of year holiday shorten to just 1 month - Dec.

          Your wish come true 😃

Coronavirus: June school holidays to start from May 5 to cover extended circuit breaker period, says Ong Ye Kung

SINGAPORE - The mid-year school holidays will start earlier from May 5 to cover the entire extended circuit breaker until June 1, Education Minister Ong Ye Kung said on Tuesday (April 21).

\"By 1 Jun 2020, hopefully the situation will be much better, and we can look forward to a safe and orderly opening of schools,\" he said in a Facebook post.

Apparently, news report that bakery shops to shut after 2359

                    Corrections:
All other food establishments, including those that sell hot or cooked snacks or breads, may remain open for takeaway and delivery services only.

                      https://www.gov.sg/article/circuit-breaker-extension-and-tighter-measures-what-you-need-to-know
From 21 April 2020, 2359 hours, the operations of less critical services will be suspended.

For the food & beverage (F&B) sector: standalone outlets that only sell beverages, packaged snacks, confectioneries (e.g. sweets, toffees) or desserts will be required to close their outlets
All other F&B outlets that sell meals can continue to remain open for takeaway and delivery services only
Hairdressing and barber services will be required to close their outlets

For the list of activities that will be allowed to continue to operate, refer to this link.

From 21 April 2020, 2359 hours, additional restrictions will be placed on selected consum\ter-facing businesses to further reduce customer interactions.

Optician shops can operate by appointment only; walk-in customers are longer accepted
Pet supplies stores and retail laundry services must close their physical stores, but are permitted to provide online sales and delivery

The number of businesses allowed to operate at their work premises will also be reduced, especially businesses that are less critical for daily living or to maintain essential supply chains. Some businesses which are currently permitted to operate at their work premises will be required to suspend their on-site activities.

The affected businesses will be notified by the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI), and will have 24 hours upon notification to wind down their business operations completely. While this may mean some degradation of services, it is necessary to further reduce the number of workers in essential firms and minimise the risks of transmission among workers.
Does it mean Old Chang Kee can still open?
