Hi,
Thanks for the info.

For the mother tongue enrichment class for P1, does it spell "end-of-the road" for any students not making it?

I don't think so. For my daughter (P2 this year), there are those who were not in the enrichment class last year, being recommended to the MT enrichment class this year. And also those who were in the enrichment class but were not recommended for enrichment class this year. So, the pupils don't really \"lose out\" even if they are not in the enrichment class.
But, something to note which is different from last year. This year, for P2 Chinese in enrichment class (I'm not sure about P1 this year). they use Higher Chinese text book, different text books from those used by core module class. I noted there are more passages in the Higher Chinese text books. However, all students are only tested based on the core modules syllabus. -

Came back today from meet parents session for P1. The MT teacher also assured me that considerations will also be given after next 2 terms (review every 6 months). The teacher also told me that actually in KCPPS, quite a handful of MT teachers are actually contract teachers and some didn't even gone through NIE training, a bit funny. So I actually concluded that MOE is not emphasizing on MT, but unwilling to giveup MT, schools are allowed to give enrichment for MT but syllabus for enrichment not tested at all. -

pardon me. but ya conclusion very no link.
there's also a shortage of English teachers island-wide.
One school I know of is actually surviving on 3 relief (not even contract) EL teachers.
does that mean MOE is not emphasizing on English? -
Is it true that average PSLE results for KCPPS for the TOP 2 classes is 240 -250 only? That’s what a friend told me.

Hi, we should get together. The PSVG has autonomy and is strictly a volunteer group. Parent should form a group to discuss academic/teacher and etc. issues with the school board.
My son is in P2 and my daughter will join her bro in P1 next year. -
Hi all
My son will be attending P1 in 2012. Called the school, was told that PV registration is closed. May i check who can i look for PV? Really hoping my son can study there. -

but u may want to try walk in to sch office to ask. by right, must register by 1 July. KCPPS doesn't really have long list of PV, so if you have a specialised skill to offer, likely they want you. look for the VP. -
Dear Parents, Just wondering if any parents here have had experience choosing between Kuo Chuan Presbyterian at Bishan and YangZheng at Serangoon Ave 3. I think I may need to ballot for both as I live within 1km-2km of Kuo Chuan, and my mother (caregiver) live within 1 km of YangZheng. Please share your thoughts! Thank you. Regards
