Their acceptance would be put under reservation. After completing NS, they can decide to accept and reject the other course offered. While they are still in NS they can still consider to apply a new course or reapply for medicine (for those not successful after the MMI/appeal) in the next academic year.
For those who want to try a second time for medicine, they might want to take up vocation such as being a Combat Medic to get experience of how it is like working in the medical field. At least this skills can be presented up for your Medicine reference in application. It could be of such help in such a competitive course.

You are right! Multiple universities acceptance are not allowed. It is my mistakes for the mis-interpretation.
I have attached herewith a link to a pdf file from NUS on the acceptance of courses for returning Nsmen to supersede my above incorrect advise.

My son's put on NTU wait list and also invited him for interview for his second choice Biological Sciences (Double Major) that would also provided him an alternative pathway to study medicine at DUKE-NUS graduating as Doctor of Medicine (MD) instead of MBBS.

Hi Desmond Tang, yes, my goddaughter was also waitlisted for NTU med and offered an interview for her next choice which is the same double major programme as your son. She was also offered her second choice at NUS. Best wishes to your son! -

Is your daughter going for the Biological Sciences ZOOM interview invitation? My son has replied and attending the interview on this Thursday at 10am.
Your daughter has initially opted for Biological Sciences and Biobusiness or Biological sciences and Psychology? My son has opted to go with Biobusiness.
This course has a good pathway for their future career but getting on board Duke-Nus is a great hurdles cos’ more interviews and taking the MCAT entrance test. Well, will let nature take its course. -

> Notification that a candidate is on our reserve list. Candidates on the reserve list may be offered a place in the undergraduate medical degree programme if there is a vacancy as a result of another candidate declining his or her offer, or is unable to matriculate in AY2020.

Friend’s daughter 3H2 1H1 got selected for NUS medicine. So contrary to what some people said, 4H2 is not compulsory, otherwise the faculty would have made it clear from the start - just like they made it clear chem and bio/ physics at H2 are requirements.
They cannot penalize those taking 3H2 when it wasn’t a requirement in the 1st place. So if the 3H2 get rp 88.75 and above, they still are selected for interviews.
I think it all boils down to the personality they are looking for during the interview that makes the difference in whether one is selected or not. -
This year there was considerable diversity in NUS medicine selection processes. Many superb candidates were surprised that they were being ousted out despite their best grades, leadership and testimonials.
My son is still in the assessment stages at NTU. His medicine was put in waiting list. For the time being his second choice course (Biological Sciences) which offer a medicine pathway by NTU-Duke-NUS, needs to go for few rounds of interview. If successful has to take an entrance test before qualifying for the course.
Our kids have put many hours of studying and burning midnight oils in preparation for many exams. Hoping for a better life, able to take care of their aging parents later, to give back to society and our country, Singapore. It seemed the hurdles for their aspiration is make harder and mentally stressful.
It’s like Carp leaping over Dragon’s Gate. According to Chinese mythology, the Dragon’s Gate is located at the top of a waterfall cascading from a legendary mountain. Many carp swim upstream against the river’s strong current, but few are capable or brave enough for the final leap over the waterfall. If a carp successfully makes the jump, it is transformed into a powerful dragon.
Hopefully all is well and ends well. -
