So what are the figures for percentage of GEP students per Y1 cohort? Is this info made transparent?
A very common impression amongst parents is that they ask if NUS High is a school for GEP students.
For the 2018 batch of Year 1s, the 170 cohort came from 74 primary schools.
For the 2019 batch of Year 1s, the 169 cohort came from 78 primary schools.

The figures tell a different story ... -

“Have you been to NUS High School? You might be amazed that we not only have the state-of-the-art facilities, we also have interesting math and science features on various parts of our building! “
Take a look at our Open House Website: https://www.nushigh.edu.sg/admissions/open-house.
Click on the interactive school tour using your desktop/laptop! Our students have put together a cool game platform for you to explore our school. Our students will bring you around the school. Try it out!
We enjoyed the virtual school tour. It’s very interesting and my son is very keen in applying to NUS high now! -
But this also shows you can be from a neighbourhood secondary school and end up teaching prodigy kids at NUS High!!
This statement is true for secondary students from neighbourhood school too. Many hard/smart working kids manage to enjoy their learning journey in this school. The good attitude plus a conducive environment help to groom my child to be a fine young man now.
All the best wishes to your classmate.
Happy Teaching

What questions can we expect during the interview if shortlisted?

I think most won’t know, because in the past interview is only for the unsure case. Most of the students didn’t go through the interview. First round paper assessment is sort of filter a minimum requirement in Math and Science ability or knowledge. The second round activities assessment is encompassing a lot of aspect including passion in the subjects, creativity, perseverance and etc. So most are confirm or reject based on the first 2 rounds. But given the situation now, likely it will change. Even the questions may be different from the past.

the way the assessment conducted is totally different -
no more Round 1 nor Round 2 NUS High test
at NUS High interview, basically they want to know, to what extent is your interest deep, in Maths & Science ?
Hence,
1)
one common interview question asked, is
in your spare time, what do you occupy yourself with, to show interviewers that indeed u do display a natural flair, towards Maths & Science ?
2)
Another question to prepare is
\"What are some of your strength(s) & weaknesses ?\"
3)
3rd question to prepare, is
\"Which other schools did you also apply to, besides NUSH High ?
And if all schools were to offer you CO, how would you rank my NUS High offer ?
Is NUS High your FIRST choice ? \"
example
say, you have also concurrently applied to Total 3 DSA schools
a) RI
b) Hwa Chong,
c) NUS High
4) Do you have any questions, for us (NUSH) ? -
The first of the four e-Engagement sessions took place yesterday.
The video can be watched from the Live Chats! page on the school E-Open House webpage. Just click on 19 May 4-5pm talk.
Was interesting the Q&A as the school leaders covered many of the "burning questions" such as comparison of the NUSHigh Diploma with A levels, how NUSH diploma holders apply to local Universities in an earlier window than A levels, application to overseas Universities, taking the AP in upper years (Advanced Placement) for placement to Ivy League, opportunities for overseas learning trip to top universities and also for humanitarian education, help from Education Counsellors in school to apply for overseas Universities, the emphasis on research skills within the NUSH curriculum, the Advanced Research Project (in Year 5), how the students stay in Boarding in year 5 …
Very informative. -

How does NUSH fare in terms of the non-STEM areas ?
Perhaps this video clip from a long time school language teacher in the school explains :-
