I also like the face shield better. They are sold online, but do get the anti-fog ones with a sponge headgrip. I wonder where those essential workers’ kids get theirs from? Their photos were on MOE’s FB.

hmmmm… Face shields are accepted in Sch … how about in public areas, no formal notice?

the plastic layers over eyes may "blur" vision ,a bit . looks funny too ? a matter of getting used to the look

i see mall snr cleaners wear both layers face and shield - which is GOOD for them, but they r in air con areas -so not hot la

Don't think you need to wear one in the office. It's more for frontliners like teachers and flight attendants. Btw, don't laugh, I also have PPE for travelling.

For kids, parents are ''encouraged'' by MOE to get them for their kids, if that's what this MOE poster is saying.

MOE could issue every primary sch student one kid’s size face shield when they return to schools. Like those seen on MOE FB/posters.

MOE allows students to put on face shield or masks or both. No problem with that.

NTUC staff hv all been issued one face shield. This same face shield is available fr UNITY pharmacies. In SKorea, they’ve a whole range of fashionable face shield but some are not suitably designed for floating viruses prevention. Israel had a face mask designed for meal consumption without removing the masks priced ard $4 per piece, but I doubt It’ll be popular. More like troublesome & doesn’t prevent spills or drips or soiling the masks.

It’s time for creativity in midst of pandemic. That’s positivity out of some anxieties.

During last few days, Singapore has steadily inched up bit by bit to become the most infectious nation in the world, measured by number of infections per million people.

                      The rankings are:
                      1. Singapore 5026 per million
                      2. Spain 4928 per million
                      3. Ireland 4916 per million
                      4. Belgium 4823 per million
                      5. USA 4619 per million
                      6. Italy 3734 per million
                      7. UK 3656 per million
                      8. Switzerland 3569 per million

                      Neighbouring counries
                      Malaysia 690 per million
                      S Korea 214 per million
                      Hong Kong 141 per million
                      Taiwan 18 per million

                      Other small nations
                      Sweden 2946 per million
                      Denmark 1882 per million
                      Latvia 525 per million
                      Allbania 332 per million

Numbers derived by dividing number of total infections (wiki below) as at 18 May divided by population.
                      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/COVID-19_pandemic_by_country_and_territory

Numbers weave a story. Please exercise due diligence before picking and choosing. You cant just look at one parameter without the context.
Please also compare the testing per million - given it's populations size, we have a high number of testing per million. Active testing is being done - mild and asymptomatic ones are being picked up hence a greater number of positives. The migrant workers living in dorms form a very high portion of those tested positive , as they are being tested extensively.

Compare deaths per million - out of the 5026 per million we only have a fatality rate of less than 0.08% , it is around 6% for the world right now .
Compare those in ICU , for the 28K+ positive, 18K+ active cases , but right now we have only 12 in ICU . again 0.06% vs the 2% worldwide.
That should give you a better picture, that probably the testing in other countries is lacking so the positive cases are under represented. It is not like we have exceptional immune system compared to people in other countries.

                      https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/three-day-daily-tests-per-thousand-since-1-per-mil-confirmed-cases
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ -- gives a lot more columns which makes comparison a little more reasonable.

According to your abovementioned Worldometers site,
most of the abovementioned countries has higher number of testing per million than Singapore MOH's 33.5k per million. So please check your claim before posting that Singapore has high testing number per million.

                      Tests per million
                      USA 38K
                      Spain 50k
                      UK 40K
                      Italy 51k
                      Belgium 61k
                      Switzerlan 40k
                      Russia 50k
Singapore 33.5k which is very low (MOH 18 May number)
Wuhan 1million test per million (other source)

Furthermore, most of the testing in Singapore are for domitory workers. The community does not get much testing, only for high risk healthcare workers, that's why low infection at community level.

Notice also that MOH's tests in week ending 18 May has only about 5000 test compared to 50k - 70k in previous week.
