I go in the morning cos fish/meat fresher, maybe that’s why it’s so packed! Quite expected but nothing has been done? Like cap the number of visits to supermarket to twice a week for every individual?
It's only to be expected - supermarkets are the most-frequented places now. Chances are that there is little or no spread as contact in supermarkets is superficial and short, and everyone is masked these days. Let's wait 2 weeks and see.lee_yl\" post_id=\"1978099\" time=\"1590629721\" user_id=\"17023:
Everyday announce one NTUC outlet, very soon we will see one whole list of NTUC branches, from Jurong to Pasir Ris !!
Very early, we already complained that NTUC packed like sardines, almost every day like that, no social distancing, quite expected lah.
BTW, 1st wet market to be announced is one of those 4 most crowded markets that required odd/even number on your IC to enter.
I haven't encountered \"packed like sardines\" at any supermarket so far, but I choose to go on a weekday mid-afternoon. I expect that mornings are more crowded. Not sure about evenings.
I have been buying groceries for my parents for the past two months. I insisted they avoid going to the supermarkets as they are already well above 60.
I usually spend more than 30 mins doing grocery shopping. In comparison, I think logging in to enter BreadTalk is redundant as we are unlikely to spend more than 5mins there.
Actually if GovTech doesn’t call to inform me, I can’t recall where exactly I have been to on the 20th May (at a specific timing). Wonder if there is such apps which we can log on to GovTech to check where and when we previously logged in to SafeEntry. -

Hi, cute bucket hats will be given to preschool kids, but face shields will be given to primary school kids. There are no news on secondary, PreU+JC+poly+ITE at this moment.
I found this one, does anyone know if school can wear this? https://publicpeach.com/collections/decor-living/products/bucket-hat-with-face-shield

I am thinking that face masks would be very uncomfortable for my girls to wear in class all day, because it disrupts airflow. I don't know if you have experience with schools disallowing hats in class because I want my daughters to wear hats with face shields instead. It's more comfortable for them.

Best to check with your principal if there's any dress code, i.e. specific school monochrome colours allowed only. If your school uniform is navy, but your girls wear a red bucket, will they be booked? If a boy wears a green or a yellow bucket, will he be laughed at by his schoolmates? I think upper primary kids should not wear this bucket over their head for 7hrs.
I suppose the same school uniform rules should apply to cloth masks as well, or are cloth masks treated like bags and pencil cases or like hair accessories and earrings?
Make sure older school pupils in JC, ITE and poly do not wear cloth masks with internet slangs, Guy Fawkes, The Clown, consumer brands, religious symbols, state flags or flags of stateless places, rainbow flags, commercial cartoons, BDSM leopard \"preens\", political messages like “光复xx”/\"Free XX”, silly emojis or suggestive images printed on them. Teenagers tend to be more creative and cheeky, individualistic at times.
East Asian schools do not have a problem. All wear sterile-looking disposables sold by their govt, but here in Singapore, our govt promote reusable /home-sewn cloth masks.
There're so many cloth masks for pupils to pick from the internet, so need to set some rules.

I wld prefer kids hv neutral colors or std masks/face shields & not those silly or controversial prints. I’ve seen some real hilarious & silly ones. Might get kids teased or verbal bullied. This may reduce kids wasting energy teasing & laughing at each other’s protective fears & distract fr precious engagement time with teachers & peers. Just my preference.

Students and teachers to hv a standard type facial mask? Working adults can hv a fanciful type?

Of course! Provided the rules for temperature checks, compulsory mask-wearing & sanitizing of hands are still in place.
Will you be happy if groups are limited to 5 people (1 teacher + 4 students max) when tuition and enrichment centers are allowed to resume in Phase 2 ?
But can centres that ran on 1:12 ratio business model, offer us 1:4? Highly doubt they can find more teachers. -

[/quote]Hi, our JC principal says the cohort will receive a face shield each. In the other, our secondary school says both masks & face shields can be bought from school, if necessary. -
Any idea if music and dance schools offer discounts for their course fees conducted remotely?

I like this quote from a Rice Media article by Yeo Boon Ping:
“Our education system must recognise the achievements of all and must not continue to label those who take a vocational education route as less worthy or less valuable, or their qualifications less rigorous.
After all, healthcare professionals aside, we don’t see degree holders deemed as essential workers or heroes during this time. It’s the people who are fixing our burst pipes, the locksmiths who save us from being homeless when we stupidly lock ourselves out of our houses, the hawkers feeding us, the bus drivers who keep Singapore moving. The pandemic reminds us that these vocational skills have for so long been undervalued, but none of us can do without them.“
