        Hi Autumnbronze,

Thatโ€™s some really amazing advice. I think it will work. Just if for me to do it, I guess it will really need a heart of stone.

my daughter seems like getting bad. Initially she can sleep on her own bed (same room with us). Now, she canโ€™t sleep on her bed and will climb and sleep on our body. Then we will put her down to her bed when she is asleep.

Hopefully I can learn the way you did to your DS.

        Wonderful post. Thanksโ€ฆ

Will see how it goes. Think I wont be able to use the cry it out method for now. Cant bear to.

Hopefully she will understand when older.

                  Hi,

My gal is coming 4 years old but she is still sleeping with us because I am worried that she may fall off from her bed as she turn 360degree when asleep.

She sometimes fall from the bed to the floor. I am still trying to see if I should start letting her sleep in her own room. I thought it might be good if she sleep on her own when she starts primary school.

                  any advise on this issue.

I've always felt that kids should not sleep with parents beyond the age of 2. Unfortunately, my wife does not subscribe to this idea. What about your kids?

                    Hi Alison,

I would find that to start off as early as possible. All these years, i can't let my 2 boys have a room to share as I have been renting out the 2 spare rooms (bring in more $$$), been feeling so bad ๐Ÿ˜ž As DS1 gets older, he has been asking for a room of his own, even willing to sleep store room, which i was :!: to this idea.... But by end of this year, i will give up rental of 1 bedroom :moneyflies: :moneyflies: , i will let DS2 share with him the same room. Hope they r fine to sleep by their own, worrying DS2 misses my \"body smell\" (not odour huh!!!)

First, u can buy a thick mattress, just place it on the floor got your gal to sleep since she tends to go on rolling, at least with this she would not suffer any major injuries. Next, u need to make her feel comfortable to sleep alone, without mummy nor daddy. For initial stage, be there with her till she fell asleep. There are some tips to encourage kid to sleep alone, go through the thread and see how other daddies & mummies did.... :celebrate:

We used to put our DS on his own bed.

all three of us share the same bedroom, which is a combination of the original master bedroom+the adjacent room.
but sometime around midnight or in the wee hours of the morning, DS will trudge over and climbed onto our bed. as a result, DH who is an ultra light sleeper will be awakened, and after some unsuccessful attempts to fall back to sleep, he will just give up and walk over to DSโ€™s bed to sleep instead. these days, he is just resigned to sleep on DSโ€™s bed while DS sleeps on our bed with me to save himself the trouble of walking to and fro halfway thru sleeping. sighzโ€ฆit wasnโ€™t what we had planned at all, but practicality prevails at the end of the day.

I read some pretty hilarious descriptions here from parents sleeping with their kids!

For us, I have been sleeping with my DS since when he was about 3-6 months (easier breast-feeding plus bonding).

He is now 2.8 yo and we are setting up his own bedroom and will try to migrate him soon! Over the past few months, he has kicked, slapped, headed and rolled all over us during his sleep and have gotten blue-black before. Worst was when his head just fell directly on unsuspecting stomach - whoosh! ๐Ÿ˜ข

He has also chased his daddy out of the master bedroom and closed the door in his face, plus kicked him out of the bed literally as well! I decided this has got to stop soon, poor daddy!

So wondering how to migrate him....see how.....would be easier if there is a sibling so that they can keep each other company!

I do not subscribe to the notion of letting the kid cry-it-out. I believe it is harmful for them pychologically.

                        :celebrate:
