Thank you very much MerlionInGermany! I asked my girl to share this info with her friends too. They thought they can skip volume because it will not be tested, forgetting that they also learned Volume in P5. A large portion of volume was in fact covered in P5. It is safer to draw a conclusion that Volume is tested. The communication from MOE is misleading.
I found this from the MOE website.MerlionInGermany\" post_id=\"1979238\" time=\"1591171196\" user_id=\"2964:
[quote=2eclipse post_id=1979220 time=1591167226 user_id=185689]Parents, did your kid’s Math teacher explain how to differentiate the type of volume questions that will be tested vs excluded? My kid’s teacher was unable to answer, neither my kid’s tutor (current school Math teacher) is able to.
As a result I wrote in to SEAB but disappointed by the half baked reply. As parents, we want to know how to differentiate P5 vs P6 volume questions. If school can give a clear guideline, we do not need to contact MOE/ SEAB. Now, SEAB wants us to check with the school again. This is so confusing!
At my end, I flipped through P5 SA2 TOP school papers and compare with P6 prelim questions for volume, there is no difference. In fact, some of the P5 volume questions are more challenging.

Totally agree, this is an excellent book. My girl is extremely weak in chinese. After diligently using this book, her results improved from low 50+ in P5 SA1 to low 70+ in P5 SA2, improve 20 marks. This is the only assessment book that she is using, along with the 手册. She is hoping to get an A for Chinese.

Some schools will be conducting the term test in a few weeks time. This is to replace the mid-year examination. It is a good practice for the P6 instead of waiting till prelim to discover the gap. Since schools already set the mid year questions, they might as well just let the students do the papers.
My girl’s teachers are really stepping up to assist the students. Compulsory remedial classes will commence next week. The amount of schoolwork is really A LOT.
There is literally no more time to practice TOP school papers or do additional tuition work.
Is this the same situation in other schools too, all gearing up for PSLE?
I only hope the kids do not get burnt out before PSLE. It is really a stressful year. -
PSLE parents, if u are feeling bored & need some light entertainment, this new episode of Lion Mums talks about HBL + PSLE kids on Zoom with minister OYK:

May I ask if your child takes HCL, do you buy normal CL assessment book for them to practice, or HCL assessment book. Say for 画龙点睛 - 语文应用 book? Will all the words in normal CL textbook also appear in HCL textbook?

Can anyone advise which schools test paper to do for Maths and Science? I want challenging papers from 2018 as my boy will not have time to do every school.
Thanks in advance.

languages
for \"Standard\" Chinese / \"Higher\" Chinese -
try the SAP schools' papers, will do
they are challenging enough
for English -
not much obvious difference detected, amongst Top schools' test paper(s)
eg
not much obvious difference, between \"Rgps\" vs \"Mgs\" standard
if u have the time, can attempt both schools
for English past year papers, there isn't any primary school standard, that stands out from the rest, very obvious. All like \"sama sama\", similar kind standard -
Good morning,
Will practising doing the past PSLE papers be sufficient to prepare for PSLE?
Thank you. -

of course not
Good morning,
Will practising doing the past PSLE papers be sufficient to prepare for PSLE?
Thank you.
should practise your PSLE papers first, because this is the core (main) pillar.
After that, use whichever schools' past year papers, or use whichever Assessment book(s) u deem fit, to supplement (support) that area of weakness spotted (identified / surfaced), in your PSLE paper practice
