Quoted from PaulFamily in reply to my Comments: - "I don’t see a problem with the current system. Why should good candidates who have offers from both school be limited to the choice of one school? Doesn’t that defeat the whole concept of meritocracy?"

      My views : -
When a student who has applied for NUS and NTU Medicine stand a better chance of at least getting an offer from one or both schools. I believe his interest is to study medicine and is willing to accept an offer given to him by either school. A system that is able to prioritize and issue an offer but not from both is much meritocratic in my opinions.

Likewise it is also applicable to those who opted for Dentistry, Medicine and Law. Which university that extend an earliest welcoming offer will take precedent over the other courses in his lists. It will ensure students to pick their choice courses carefully and not to hunker all the popular courses with disregard of their interest in mind. This way it will free up resources and more places would be allocated fairly.

It is good to have if you are going for YLL. But for LKC, the students will be issued an iPad for TBL. May I know which meds school that your children has been offered?

Ultimately, iPad is a tool that depends on students needs and how convenient that fits for individual learning.

Your children is eligible for education pricing if you purchase your iPad online. For a IPad with 32Gb, it can as cheap as $450 estimated if you are facing financial matters. iPad mini is also doable for about $500 plus as an estimation.

          Hope this clarifies your doubts.

There's no hurry for you to get the necessity now. Every campus has a Computer IT Accessories and Supplies Shop. They sell relevant stationeries, Laptops and iPads at student price. You can shop it when you are at the campus.

YLL gives $1k for the student to buy iPad.

iPad coupled with GoodNotes or Notability app is a good tool for medical students to take notes with imported pictures.

NTU said no wait listed candidates have been notified so far. Offers will be made as and when slots are available. Not sure why no offers have been made 😕 Perhaps there arent any slots ?

does this mean that students w double offers have to accept nus AND reject ntu for the waitlist to move? what if they only accept nus and forget to reject ntu? just wait?

Once u accept NUS or NTU, the acceptance portal will auto-reject the other school for you. The question now is, did NTU over-offer in the first wave, and hence maybe the waitlist isn't moving yet[/quote]My child has accepted YLL long ago and he is on the waitlist at LKC. He prefers LKC. Since he has accepted YLL, does it mean he will be dropped out of LKC waitlist?

NUS halls have no aircon. I wonder why they never upgrade after all these years. The halls are very old, all common toilets.

Heard NTU has special halls for their medic students and it is like condo compared to the rest of the other halls. Such privileges. And they have both aircon and non aircon halls.

When they live in the halls, they goto university. When they stay at home, they are going to school. No different from going to junior colleges.

Yes if he has accepted YLL, the decision would have been final. Also the hostel application deadline is over for the 1st round acceptance. But imaybe that is subject to NS disruption approval for your case?

LKC can reduce the school fee, once it takes in more students, like YLL.

                      Heard LKC got such planning
