Tuition centers should not force parents to accept digital learning at full fees.

can ask your tuition centre, is it alternate empty seat arrangement, that type ?

probably, tuition centre need to re-arrange seating arrangement, to space out the tables and chair

Not sure how strict is this “social distancing” at enrichment centres. Will MOH enforcement officers conduct checks at the tuition centres just like how they are checking on those companies and fine them for non-compliance?

All of us know how small the tuition classrooms are. It is not easy to implement social distancing.

Any tuition centre confirmed they are reopening this weekend? Mine says since need to check out the details and may still need to apply permit etc.. if tuition resume then CCA should also resume right?
many tuition centre are still cautious, just as parents are cautious

even though newspaper said this Friday (19 June) go ahead to start Phase 2, however, a number of them said they prefer to resume online tuition, at least until end of this month June, alternate HBL lesson.

            Come July next month,

            1) if parents prefer F2F (eg. those graduating cohort 2020), they will convert back to F2F, since these is what customers want.

            2) however,
if there are other parents who prefer to stick to online (eg. those Non-graduating cohort), and
after consult opinion from rest of the remaining students inside the same tuition class and if they do not mind stick back to online, since no need to waste time travelling up and down, to and fro to centre, because travelling inside public bus / MRT, can also catch potential risk of virus, then will continue online, even though can have F2F

so, is not compulsory that everything \"die die\" must go back to F2F.
it depend on how majority of students inside your tuition class feel, because many are still afraid of \"asymtomatic\" virus

Hi, our timeslot at the CL tuition centre has always had less than 10 students, so we had been able to space out with 1m distance between students. Come Phase2, ours plans to resume in-centre classroom lessons After this weekend.

Just thinking, if you have paid for a discounted lesson price for June (or for the whole tuition term until July for eg), because it has gone online, even if they can do the spacing and all, would they move it back to classroom?

I haven’t received info but I will think they will stick to online until it is time for the next billing.

Those that charge 3 months in advance, more complicated. Eg. Term 2 was from March to mid-June. Term 3 from mid-June to August.

They gave a belated rebate for April and May online lessons, credited into Term 3 bill.

So technically we haven’t seen any discount for Term 3 yet.

So in this case, if they move back to classroom, there will be no issue. Term 3 bill for mid June to August, will just be full lesson fees, minus the April and May discount, and prob also minus the discount for the one or two June online lessons.

I’m starting to favour private tutors. They only charge at the end of the month, and also they only bill for actual lessons attended.

I also prefer private tutors now. Some group tuitions are quite expensive too and I rather TOP up a bit more to pay for qualified local school Teachers. This is especially so when my girl is taking PSLE this year. 1-to-1 tuition is really effective as teacher/tutor is able to pinpoint her weaknesses and help her improve.

If tuition centres give a choice, continue online tuition at 10% discount or face to face tuition (no discount), which one will you choose?

For me I choose face to face because my electricity bill and printing cost is more than 10%.
