CHS's and NYPS>NYGH's affiliation scores are so high, its almost like no affiliation!
And I noticed PLMGS has a -44 discount between affiliated and non affiliated, seems like a very good choice of safety net. 250 for non affiliates, wow! However i've never really paid attention to them, seems like a dark horse and underrated. Never heard people mention them enough.

PLMGS last year score was 205 for affiliates and 237 for non-affiliates. COP has come down a little after 80/20 rule implemented.

You don’t hear much of them because PLMGS (Secondary) isn’t a 250 school. It’s COP is artificially high because they have very little, at times none, places for non-affiliates in the past. They are not better, or worst, than several of the CHIJ schools (which you probably don’t hear much about either).

Thanks for your input! What about St Marg and Fairfeild Methodist? Where do they stand among what tier or reputation they are? St Marg is the oldest school in SG with such illustrious past but why so underrated? Both St Marg and Fairfield Methodist secondary COP are around 240, its not easy to get in!

SMSS and FMSS take in students from the affiliated primary school at a much discounted COP. So the number of available seats open to students from non affiliated schools is small. However, CGS COP indicates the lowest entry point into the school. In other words, every student in CGS scored at least 240+.

Some schools have really weird odd numbers. More schools than in previous years.

Did anyone find the answer as to WHY???

It looks like those schools that dont go into balloting have extra vacancies this year.

U mean some schools classes with intake 192. They have classes each exceeding 30 kids for p1.

U mean they are allowed to go beyond MOE’s recommended class size of 30? I really pity the teacher, need to manage so many young kids who may not be sufficiently socio-emotionally developed yet.
