Unless you are one of the fortunate ones who lived within 1km to KCPPS, you don’t have an alternative. KCPPS ballot between 1km to 2km so you would be screwed if you aren’t under 1km. You probably won’t get a chance at the rest of the popular / semi-popular schools in Toa Payoh or AMK; the less popular schools, including GYPS in Bishan, would have plenty of places for Phase 2CS. Thus, no urgency to consider them for Phase 2C.

I'm considering St Gabriel's for Phase 2C and give up my 1st choice. Probably less stressful too.
If i'm not successful with Catholic High, then I'm left with not much choices.[/quote]GYPS is a shoo-in for Phase 2CS. I don’t think “not much choices” is true. Whether you want that choice or not, is a different thing.

Do some comparisons from the comfort of your couch. School culture could be quite different. Based on hearsay, St Gabriel’s is indeed less stressful.

Pei Chun need to ballot, Kheng Cheng sure in.

Based on below qms post, 2018 indeed a hot dragon year, Kheng Cheng need to ballot <1km. I don’t think that is going to repeat though. Kheng Cheng mostly safe for 1-2km

take up rate in phase 1 is the highest since 2015. for now it still look a fair good chance of getting in without balloting for SC within 1km. in the unlikely case of a ballot, odd should be quite good too.
