          Hi Mummies and Daddies,

For those kiddo that is already studying this school, any feedback on the current Principal and the teachers?

          Thank you.
I’m not a mummy or daddy, I’m currently studying at this school (sec4). The current Principal is very strong in her bilingualism and often wants those presenting to the entire school to speak in both languages. She can be quite naggy at times but it’s for our own good. She frequently supports initiatives taken by students and allows them to implement them, which is very good for our personal development through the various CCAs.

As for the teachers, most of them are quite okay and chill with us, except for some that are not so good, like those teachers who just simply throw work without teaching clearly or give notes that barely cover the content (you can ask your friends from other classes for better notes based on teacher). There are, however, some good teachers who always ensure we understand the subject matter that they are covering, and are very patient with us. Generally, the mathematics department is pretty good, the english department is still okay (only 2-3 are good), science department still okay (only some are good), humanities still quite good. For aesthetics department, the fce teachers might not be so lax on u as they do not know u very well and teach an entire level (sem1:sec2,sem2:sec1). The art teachers are quite nice and will guide you through your artworks done in class. As for chinese department, there is one teacher who has a very heavy malaysian accent, but the rest are pretty ok (i’m not so sure cos this year got quite a lot new teachers but that’s what i know from the past 3 years).

If you have any questions, feel free to drop them here!!

I believe it’s random. Have 2 kids same TScore but different class. Which class is yours posted to?
Aiyo. Your kids a bit unlucky. Usually twins go to the same class

Hi parents/students, I heard that the timetable of the school is 3 days chinese and 2 days English. The school is also emphasises a lot on the chinese language hence students who are weak in chinese will find it very stressed. Is this true? Thank you.

I think it’s the norm for all SAP schools.

You can check the time tables in school website.
It is 1 of the 11 SAP sec schools.

                      Hi ndzgirl.

If distance is not a major issue and if your child can travel to the east, then I would recommend Anglican High, if you are worried about not meeting Chinese requirement.

Anglican High is also SAP school, same as Nan Chiau. But it is less Chinese-driven. It is also having the majority of students taking Pu-Hua (Chinese) instead of Higher MT. But students can still enjoy the status of being in SAP school. If your child does not want Higher MT, the school is even happier because the teachers can have easier work

So out of curiosity, I looked at the sec 1 timetable. 8 classes, all 8 timetable put down Higher Chinese. But my colleague’s daughter in sec 1 this year is taking Chinese. So does that mean, we cannot estimate how many people are taking Chinese from looking at the timetable?
