      Hi, parents,

My 5yr old gal can't stop scratching herself leaving alot of scar on her body.

Anyone parents can adv / share on how to stop her itchiness and scratching w/o applying steroid cream too often that can thin her skin in long run.
      Hi!
That sounds like eczema. My 7 y/o niece also had a similar problem and used steroid cream. found it ineffective as itching came back after she stopped usage! :stompfeet: My sister tried many different types of creams and lotions but none of them worked, until she used emu oil. After a few days, the itching stopped. My sister also noticed that some of my niece's scars from her scratching has faded. You can check out this link if you wanna know more about eczema cures and causes and how emu oil can help. http://emutracksasia.com/skin-problems/ ... of-eczema/

        http://www.cetaphil.com/restoraderm-ecz ... oisturizer

It's pretty ex abt $34 for a small bottle & it's only avail by prescription. But it's easily avail from Amazon at abt S$16 (provided free shipping).

Ds has been using it for more than a year now. He also uses the body wash.

I developed Ezcema after delivering DS2. My fingers & palm were constantly itchy and the itch was unbearable. Uncontrollably, I scratched hard enough and the skin broke, and the skin became infected and painful. On bad days, I could not even hold chopsticks as the contact with the skin was just too much and had to bandage my hand before I eat meals. Saw many doctors and was given different steroid cream and told to avoid water . But how to? Almost all the activities requires you to wash your hand at some point.

              Then a miracle happened.

My MIL went around asking for cure. She came back and told hubby to go and chop Rambutan tree bark and she cook the bark in water with a chinese Stuff ( one that they used in making soy beancurd back in the old days). Sorry, I cannot remember the name. Boiled it with the barks for about 15 mins. Once it is done, I will dipped my hand (palm down) into the very very very hot mixture. It was like scalding yourself with hot water. Not enjoyable but had to go through it. I did it for about 3 weeks and during those times, I saw small improvement everyday, including lesser itch everyday.
Amazingly, at the end of around 1 month, the eczema was gone...Totally! Touchwood! since , it was never back.
For those who dare to try and have access to the 'ingredients', you may try this old traditional method. I think the remedy worked fast on me, because I was able to dip my whole hands into the hot liquid. For other body areas, may have to resort to using towel and put over the body.
All the best. Hope this helps. For those suffering from Eczema, I understand the pain you are going through :grphug:

The chinese stuff comes in irregular block, like rock sugar. I hear it was banned in Singapore at one time, hence it was hush hush..

If you find the item, you can try looking for more rambutan trees. One tree is not enough for you to chop the bark leh. šŸ˜‚ In the past, DH went from one tree to another (took turns) so that the cut will not be too deep for that only one.
