Hi, may I know the history for HPPS, SC within 1km, phase 2B please? Need to ballot? Thank you.

Mostly no ballot.
https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/article/bukit-timah/

The one time balloting for within 1km was in 2013 but thats when 40 spots not were reserved for 2B and 2C. 2014 onwards, its usually quite close for filling in the spots nicely (all distance). For this year take up rate till 2A1 has increased 22 spots. and If the 2A2 fill in 24 more, HPPS will be left with 40 spots. Point to note is 26 people applied under 2B last year (19 Applied in 2018). All GRL route would adopt an \"avoid ballot\" route. For risk point i think its still fairly good chance those for within 1km under 2B will be safe.

I couldn't assume your year of registration. if its for this year or SG50 baby, the risk point should be above.

For NYPS and RGPS, staying within 1km under 2B, for NYPS balloting will be conducted at 1.5X to 1.8X of the available spots whilst RGPS will be sure in.

If you want all the 3 choices, and your application is not this year, you can watch the numbers for HPPS and say balloting 26 applied for 20 spots and balloting is conducted for >2km, then based on risk point and increasing option you can go for staying within 1km of NYPS and RGPS while staying within 1-2km of HPPS.

I also noted you may have other 2A1 or 2A2 choices, all i want to say is with more choices, come more headache šŸ˜„ Weigh your pros and con and adopt a strategy that best suit your risk profile.
This year HPPS till 2A2 are all taken up, 2B will only left with 20 slots.
If based on last year 26 applicants, >2km is very risky. If you have option for other schools within 1km, will stand a higher chance.

Noticed that punggol green take up rate was v fast even in phase 2A2. I am deciding if i shld register punggol green for P2C, SC, <1km (preferred choice becos my kid got elder cousin in tt sch) and enter into balloting...in the event if unsuccessful i go for Valour (also <1km) under 2CS. Any advice what will be consideration I need to take?
Since you are going to get the place at Valour no matter which phase you apply in (be it Phase 2C or Phase 2CS), you may as well apply to Punggol Green and hope for the best.

Hearsay SCGS PV selection process is extremely stringent. At most select 1 or 2 who can give high level value add to the school. The majority of the handful of 2B applicants for SCGS are actually GRL.
