Surprisingly, I'm exactly in the same shoes as yourself. I picked up piano in my adulthood because of one song, the mother of all classical songs .... (drums roll) .... Fur Elise. I remembered when I was young, there was this advertisement on some milk powder. The kid was playing this song and there was a metronome swinging in the background. The message communicated was: 'If your kid drinks my milk powder, he'll be smart enough to play the piano'. Since then, I've always wanted to learn this song. But when I mentioned this to my *young* piano teacher, she just gave me a blur look :scratchhead: I must be in a totally different age group.

That can actually be both good and bad…good because you get to hear something pleasant instead of something noisy to hear. Bad in a way, because you’ll be discouraged to play the piano yourself for fear of being judged at.
But may I suggest that no matter how unprofessional you are yet in playing the piano, there’s going to be room for improvement…so continue with it. If ever a lot of your neighbors are bothered by your playing, then consider further training if you like…hehe. -
