Better not engage her, otherwise teacher will be able to keep track whether I was diligent practising in the previous week or not. Haha 😉

So you like this one to be your neighbour?

The standard is about there lor. So can imagine the gulf in standard? Me playing Fur Elise (simplified ver only) and my neighbour playing Fantasie Impromptu at full speed :gloomy:

Maybe I should soundproof my room and charge part of the bill to her as 'compensation' for emotional distress? 😐

If you bill her for emotional stress, then she will bill this player in the clip too.....there is no end to it. 😉

Surprisingly, I'm exactly in the same shoes as yourself. I picked up piano in my adulthood because of one song, the mother of all classical songs .... (drums roll) .... Fur Elise. I remembered when I was young, there was this advertisement on some milk powder. The kid was playing this song and there was a metronome swinging in the background. The message communicated was: 'If your kid drinks my milk powder, he'll be smart enough to play the piano'. Since then, I've always wanted to learn this song. But when I mentioned this to my *young* piano teacher, she just gave me a blur look :scratchhead: I must be in a totally different age group.

                Hi Markfch!
Wah you too play piano only for one song? I thought I was the only \"seow\" one. Good for us bro!

Erh...the metronome swinging the background...tick, tock, tick, tock, seems vaguely familiar to me. The one use for counting the timing izzit right? Yup, we must be in the same age group! HA...HA...HA. :imcool:
                :celebrate:

I only remember the formula milk ad where the little girl is dancing in a pink tutu and the song is \"you're my best little girl in the world....\"

is it the same ad?! 🙂

That can actually be both good and bad…good because you get to hear something pleasant instead of something noisy to hear. Bad in a way, because you’ll be discouraged to play the piano yourself for fear of being judged at.

But may I suggest that no matter how unprofessional you are yet in playing the piano, there’s going to be room for improvement…so continue with it. If ever a lot of your neighbors are bothered by your playing, then consider further training if you like…hehe.

One famous oriental philosopher once said: 'Without the valleys, the hills will not seemed so high mah'. Ok I made this up, but you get the idea rite?
