Dear gurus, tmr is phase 2b.. should I try NC for 1 to 2km ballot and if fail try 2c at springdale..
What are the odds? I'm feeling anxious.
For phase 2b, I could try NC and Anchor Green.. should I use the chance for NC even if likely ballot..

      Sorry if I sound annoying...

NC probably ballot <1km. 1-2km no chance.

NC, take up till 2A2 is indeed lower compared to previous. Last year 70 applied for 60 spots, balloting needed for within 1km. Lets say the within 1km applicants does not fill all the 72 this year, the balloting odds for 1-2km may be not be good. Think it really depends on how many letter did SHHK issued for NC.

As for Anchorgreen and Springdale, Anchorgreen probably drop vacancies available for 2C by 49 to 100 whilst springdale is around 107 at the moment (take up increased 40 but intake increased 40), 2B is usually a non-event for both schools. As the area is very dense, once full will likely be balloting within 1km.

So far ferngreen and sengkang green see a drop in 2C vacancies while Rivervale should have more spots, unsure the effect of the flow over effect (havent studied the catchment area of the entire zone this year). For now it seems springdale will be slightly oversubscribed at 2C and Anchor green should be fine at 2C. Visibility at NC will be an issue this year, so you may have to weigh your risk profile in your backup choices then decide if you want to try out NC 2B.

      All the best.

PS: most of the time we are the ones that sound annoying. 😄

Lexy, thank you v much for the detailed explanation!! this is really what i need to know...

greatly appreciated your kind gesture in sharing and spending time to reply..

it is quite worrying to know that SD for phase 2c is riskier this year :(( it is my 2nd choice and if i cant get in NC, would really hope can get in SD..

yes this year the no of vacancy for NC seems more for phase 2b, and i would like to try... may i know if there are more applicants within 1km, means witin 2km dont even have chance of balloting, can i use my phase 2b chance for another school?

sorry forgot to add… would u advise to register on 1st day for NC or observe the no of vacancy for day 2 and register… i noted alot of parents also will wait till day 2 to register hence the figure for day 1 may not be accurate…

tmr is fri, all the more parents will more likely take leave to register…

Honestly, there’s nothing you can observe this year. It’s all online. If there’s a surge of 100 applicants in the last hour of day 2, you also won’t know it until the dust has settled.

my heart sank… only Day 1 have 82 applicants for 72 vacancies… i will definitely not stand a chance in NC <2km… is it possible to withdraw and use the phase 2b for another school… i feel so dreadful now and lost all hopes…

Once you apply another school, it will supersede the previous one.

You can only register your child in one school at any phase. Multiple applications will not be accepted. If you have submitted your online application and wish to make an amendment during the same phase, you may submit a new application form within the same phase. In these situations, MOE will take your latest online application submitted during the stipulated registration period of the same registration phase.

So far TUR quite low at 52%, you might have a good chance to ballot 1-2km or even balloting only for >2km.
If me, i would stay put. Might see a rainbow 😄

The funny logic is low number doesn't necessarily be good and high number doesn't necessarily be bad.

It is not everyone's nature to go in with balloting in mind. Some take it very well, while some like have a very prolonged bad dream.
