seems like this covid year has set the precedence for subsequent future batches of P1 registration, ie. Admin staff in primary schools discreet, do not disclose break down by distance information anymore, probably received instructions from the top ? Well if you are able to acknowledge that HW is peer pressure, and not your own preference, plus there is no happy 2CS (I wont be happy with Bendemeer Pri also), it looks like there is no good reason to join in the ballot. If it fails, your friends are just going to say, oh at you least you tried. But you will be the one living with the consequences.

I am indeed abit being peer pressured of enrolling HW because it’s within 1km & it’s SAP school. I am concerned if my child can survive in SAP coS he’s not a v hardworking person. Does Parents of SAP school need to put in even more efforts to guide children? As I work long hours.
There’s no happy 2CS for me if Hw fails. Bendemeer does not have a “good reputation” so I m not inclined to choose that.
Hence, I was abit gearing towards KC but just couldn’t decide which has a higher probability hit rate: HW or KC?
Franking speaking, is SAP really a good deal? Or if the student is good, he/she can strive in any school too? Or the environment of the school is crucial?
To me, SAP just means more Chinese culture related activities. They do Chinese painting, Chinese calligraphy, they celebrate Mid Autumn Festival in a big way, etc.
Environment plays a part, which is prob why you dont like Bendeemer? But then KC and HW should be very similar. My relatives stay beside KC, and send the son to PC, but now says should have just gone downstairs because they find it not so different. Previously they thought PC-SAP should be way superior to KC. First kid of theirs went to Anderson through 2a, and also regretted cos all the travelling to Anderson which is (was?) very popular in AMK, and everyone (except me) was telling them “wah you have confirmed seat you want to give up”. So 2nd one, they gave up phase 1, and sent to PC.
This popular balloting statistics is giving many people a false impression that ballot means good. Ballot simply means popular. Popular does not mean good. -
On popularity:
For many years, KCS ballots < 2km. Only in recent years, it has become “less” popular - which doesn’t necessarily tell the whole picture. As with all other schools in TPY, except for PCPS (SAP + strong alumni) and CHIJ TP (2B affiliation + alumni), most schools’ enrollment have suffered as a result of the aging demographics in the estate, so much so that more than 2 schools have closed or merged IIRC. -
Hi Parents, for those who balloted at Phase2B and were unsuccessful, did your notification state "balloting unsuccessful" or just "unsuccessful". I’m just wondering how would we would know for sure that we were actually part of the ballot. Everything is so secretive. I now how real doubts because of a series of recent events leading me to suspect the wrong address might have been relied on.

Just curious.. is affiliation to a certain sec school important? Hmm it just mean you can get into a school with a lower cut off point..but there is also other secondary schools right? Or you might end up no sec schools nearby?
Next year Term 1 January when school open, Principal will brief all 2021 P6 students (born 2009) and parents, bec already arrive into the actual Year 2021, whether still got affliation discount (if any) and by how much ?
Until today,
Principal(s) of many affliated primary schools have kept silent, dare not say nor commit anything, whenever Upper primary school parents approached them, asked, what's the new affliation advantage (if any) going to be, under the new AL ? All waiting for Moe big announcement
Hopefully, covid situation improve by then next year, then parents can sit inside school hall, face to face, listen to Principal's briefing.
Otherwise,
if covid situation remain the same as this year, no improvement, probably conduct Parents-meet-Teacher session, online briefing to 2021 P6 parents & pupils
Under Tscore, every valuable point counts.
Why ?
Because just 1 point alone by itself, is so precious, so valuable
Because
if miss by just 1 point,
even if u want to appeal, MOE forbid, because MOE said, only if P6 students have met the Sec school's COP, then can appeal

Why ?
Because
the Chinese department is very considerate
As long as P6 affliated students are able to attain minimum A score (75 marks and above), in PSLE Standard Chinese bu-hua, Sec 1 students can study Higher Chinese onwards.
Which Secondary school is so generous and thoughtful, apart from Chung Cheng High, to give you this type of leeway to learn Sec 1 Higher Chinese, if u are unable to obtain MOE Eligibility letter, if failed to fall within Top 30 percent of entire PSLE cohort ?
So AL system... A whole new world 😂😂😂

Just wondering, i keep seeing alot of the guru here says that there is distance applicants being reveal by schools for past years, as i had not gone through past years registration before. I want to know, previous years registration is walk in and with online, so MOE or schools will actually reveal how many applicants under which distance category?
To pre-empt parents to make a wiser choice? -
