Hi Experts, need your advice, for my PR son, with current stats:
Junyuan Primary: Vacancy 82; Applicants 86
Tampines Primary: Vacancy 81; Applicants 92
both 1-2km distance.
Do you think I should still go for these 2?

Why? You want to make your money worth and apply for your choice of school in Phase 2CS?
May as well choose St Hilda or Poi Ching or even Nanyang Primary School, the outcome is going to be same anyway.

Seriously, as PR, consider the schools where applicants < vacancy.

For Tampines, it look more like a balloting for PR within 1km or SC >2km.
Unless you know the breakdown of Junyuan, its very risky to take part for your distance and as PR.

Hi experts, as TKPS is likely to go into ballot for SC>2km, I am exploring Cantonment Primary and St Stephens as my backup in 2CS. Any views on how the schools are? TIA.

I would just go for the nearer one + affiliation. I guess the choice is clear.

Provided that this is your only child or all your other children come with that thing dangling in between the legs.

Hi, if under 2C vacancies left 100, the total applicants 120 and its stated need to ballot for SC within 1km, does that means 120 applicants are within 1km? Or it might not be 120? Even 101 applicants also need to ballot right? If thats the case, will school reveal the exact numbers of applicants within 1km that need to ballot?

It might not be. It depends on the schools whether they want to reveal the breakdown.
