Ds also answer the questions more on recycling but after reading that the topic is about good deed helping the poor. I immediately message his MT teacher about öut-of-point\"answers. She said whether out of point or not is really quite difficult for her to tell as the examiner should help the child if he go out of point. She said that importantly it is the 2 way conversation.xn_mummy\" post_id=\"1990696\" time=\"1597302428\" user_id=\"137029:

based on the earlier post, it seem like the chinsee topic for Day1 is recycle topic but then the question asked seem to be on good deed/donation.
anyone can comments ?
Just hope all ok because ds put in a lot of efforts preparing.
It's best just to forget about it and move on. At the most, use it as motivation for the written paper. Tell him that he needs to make sure his written paper is strong in case he lost marks in the oral

I feel Chinese oral more difficult than Eng , as need to:
Video to watch
Narrate Video & talk about about personal views of video
Final topical conversation
so many tasks to do ...
i do feel yesterday chinese video content a bit tricky too !
Yest Eng oral was still managebale, community event, neighbour/hood
Hope Today Chinese and Eng are both Manageable for ALL kids (so many avg/general kids out there, dun bask n crash their confidence la! only 11 / 12 yo - still got so many papers to tackle.
Week end is here, take a short break and prepare again :rahrah: -
Just a word of encouragement. Like many parents say, just move on and do better in other components. My gals also came back from CL oral 2 years ago with tongue tied answers and more than 7 prompts and seemingly out of point/narrow answers as they were so fixated at one theme only. In the end they did well enough to get A* in the subject which I suspected was helped by compo, LC and paper 2. So do not stress or fret over the past event. Move on and strive to do better in the other components.

This Recycling topic didn't appear in Chinese Oral for past several years, if you purchase & examined the PSLE past years' booklet, year by year.
is the chinese oral harder than last year
Last year 2019 Oral topic, Recycling (\"huan bao\") theme surfaced.
But last year Recycling was straight forward, because that was the main theme while this year 2020 Recycling a bit tricky, because the central theme was on helping people do good, kind deed, good will
Actually I was surprised that Recycling came out this year again, because normally the trend was that, if a topic already appear before, the same topic unlikely to re-appear so fast, so soon immediately, in the next following year (Psle batch). Even if were to re-appear, probably a few years later, then will appear again. I didn't realize that actually SEAB can tie in \"Recycling\" concurrently with another theme instead, hence tricky this year.
During Oral,
normally if students stray away by talking (focus) too much about Recycling, the invigilators will notice and try to steer, re-direct the students' thoughts back to the central theme, helping people do kind deed, by prompting them questions like eg. In what way, do you feel that, Recycling can help in ... ? -
Have to add my 2 cents in to this discussion after all these years of being a member . Just came back to read again cos dd3 is taking psle this year
To COOL NURSE... your daughter's reply is truly amazing ( I couldn't have said all that, even as an adult. Lol ) so she would have definitely aced it..not to worry at all
I think the oral exam is a conversational exam.. so it depends on how the child communicates fluently and effectively abt topics and how they respond to the teachers' questions. I dont think one has to worry abt whether the kids 'missed out certain points ' .. I doubt the teachers have a 'checklist 'of ALL the points that can / have to be covered .. so think parents dont have to anxious about what was missed . Also, if they omitted to say certain things.. nothing can be done now .. so not much point in wondering .
As many have pointed out . Let's all move on and support our kids in the best way possible. What's done cannot be undone. Focus our best efforts on the upcoming papers ahead.. all the best to all P6s of 2020 !! :)) -

Hi Cool nurse, if you don’t mind, can I ask why did you want to know what was missing in your DD’s answer?
