Beach/Island holiday with children

We just finalised our travel plans to Krabi (for June holidays) and has actually booked Amari after reading the excellent reviews by many travelers and of course Tamarind's. I'm definitely looking forward after seeing those photos! Will also do island hoping and snoooooze on the beach :lol:

we are bringing our 2 teenagers and 2 kids to krabi this june hol. we have booked the air ticket and la playa hotel after reading your blog.

however, i wld like to find out how did you arrange for the transfer from the airport to hotel? did you book it thru the hotel website or did you book thru one of the hotel booking website?

also, may i know do we need to take a ferry transfer before reaching the hotel from the airport? coz we got some confusing info on the net and would like to be prepared b4 we go there.

Me too. Had booked my trip to Phuket during this June holiday. We'd booked for Hilton and plan to go for Phi Phi & Khai Island after reading Tamarin and sengkang babies blogspot but very confused not sure which sail company should we go for and many of them need to pay 50% upfront to confirm the booking. Did you do that too?

sorry for late reply, auto-notification \"somehow\" fails for me.
- our room package (than) offers free airport-transfer.
- 45 min from airport to LaPlaya

if in doubt, better call LaPlaya direct to enquire. Their email->Bangkok->Krabi very slow.

ps.. if not too late, or if no toddler/babies, would recommend the pool-side rooms, you walk from hall to pool..cool !

Boatman and guide for our LongTail, and speedBoat were friendly, and helpful.

**take note, for island hoppings package, normally one boat trip per day, and normally departs at 0830. ie , you book package one day earlier.

thanks for your reply. we have booked the airport transfer via the hotelthailand website that we used to book our hotel room too.

And yes! we booked the pool side room!!!

we are all looking to a good break.

I am not as energetic as penglee, I am quite happy to stay in the resort and just laze by the beach this time But I still think that Koh Hong off Krabi is the best beach !

Self drive and will be staying in Laguna. This will be the first time for the kids to try snorkelling and in the middle of the sea too. I will update how it goes next weekend when I'm back
