Thanks Cbickaboom8888. How about the School environment? No open house this year, we could only look at the school from beyond the gates.

Is the school compound big with many facilities?

Anyone knows what the upgrades to the original site will include? Better classroom, new facilities?

What about the School Distinctive programmes or applied learning programmes? Anyone has more information about how the school runs these programme?

Does school offer robotic or coding classes?

SMPS is the single most overlooked affiliated school with cut off 242 for secondary, and chances for SC>2km and sometimes even all PR get in!
        Why is it so overlooked?
How is this school like - are the buildings at Wilkie road site very old and dark? What are they upgrading?

What about the culture? Are they competitive?
Does the school have many CCA and properly run CCA? What are their distinctive programmes?

Hi Parents is there any parent support group chat for SMPS? Or any group chat for parents who’s girls are starting P1 in 2020? I am keen to join the group chat if it’s available 😊

Hi, my gal will be starting her P1 in 2020 too.
If there is parent support group chat for SMPS, i am also keen to join.

SmPs is not a big school to start with, you can compare the cohort intake with other school
Like NYPS. School compound are generally small especially compared to current holding School. However these are not my personal criteria’s for choosing school unless you are looking for specific facilities that can support your dd Interest such as Swimming pool.

Most schools should have PAL program - usually it is a outdoor activity like visiting botanical garden and learning English at the same time, can’t remember once or twice a year. This year all program are cancelled due to covid. Anyway not a big deal though it is a nice addition to classroom learning. You can bring your dd to performance/ garden/museum.

Robotics/coding - the ict club on the website mentioned about digital photography and videography. You can get LEGO WeDo ( quite expensive) to expose your kid or ScRATCH online. There are books sold on bookdepository Website that cater for lower primary kid. All you need to provide some basic guide for kids before they can try out independently.

When I called the school last week to check, the told me they are planning one on the basis that they can hold one like in other years, but they have to wait for Ministry’s Ok before they can proceed in light of Covid situation.

                        Hi all!

I am choosing between FMPS and SMPS. Both are christian schools with affiliation with Sec School and JC.
However, I live in Lavender and SMPS is the nearest school within 2km but I was a ex student of FMPS and FMSS.
I would like to find out from parents here who currently have kids in SMPS about the school. All levels welcome!

                        Thanks all!
