Hi everyone, I'm beginning to consider options for my DS in 2021. Hoping to find a holistic school that is perhaps less stressful than the RI/ HCI whilst giving a holistic education instead of focusing on purely academic grades.
Can parents who have kids attending the above schools share some of their experiences so far?
      Much appreciated!
If you are looking at IP schools, all 3 is leading up to A levels, do you want to consider IB at SJI as well

Victoria & Catholic High are boys’ schools. Dunman & Victoria are located in the East. You might want to take these differences into consideration. Whereas, academic wise they are about the same.

I don’t think the 3 schools are any “less stressful” and any less “focus on academic grades” than RI / HCI. Ultimately, all have to sit for the same exam (A Level) and further progress (university) depends on the outcome of that exam.

My son was formerly from Catholic High. He enjoyed his 4 years in Catholic High & proceeded to NJC after O level. He missed his school days after graduating. Catholic High is like a big family & the teachers are caring. Many old boys go back to help up or even teach in the school.

Err... if you substitute the words “Catholic High”, with “Victoria School”, the passage would still sound right.

                    perhaps,

check what kind of scholarship are offered or unique, niche talent programme are available in-house, inside these three \"A-level\" JCs,
that set that apart distinctively, as a source of guide-line. During Open house conducted, can visit the JC and find out yourself.

As all the JC2 (A-level ) students inside these three JCs sit for the same common, identical National exam, they are just as competitive, as the other two (RI and Hwa Chong), amongst the JC1 and JC2 students, themselves. So, don't expect any less competition, from these 3 JCs,

                    Because

many of the students are from High Psle Tscore entry IP students, as well as
from the Top O-level L1R5 students. They are dependent uoon good grades, results, to enter their respective, chosen choice course of faculty (studies), in the University

As you know, for IP students, A-level National exam is the most important, critical exam to them, since they already by-passed O level. Hence, logical to expect great competition at JC2 level, from these 3 JCs
