I did not ask then, dun think he still remembers either. Only recalled the camp had a EL paper too. Maths sth like puzzles. Sci is experiments. The 1st screening was HAST type. Sorry not much help here. Hv you read this post from page 1? Maybe someone has posted more details?

the test questions sound really tough. if we adults don’t know, how to expect a 12 years old to know?

my son is really keen on NUSH so keeping my fingers crossed but if he doesn’t make it , can’t really blame him…
sun_2010, sometimes i really wish i am an octopus, esp when all my 3 boys vie for my attention at the same time !
to all those going for NUSH DSA, good luck!

NUSH does not participate in the central posting. A pupil who scores 250 and above and has A* in MA and Sc can apply directly.

My elder boy who has NMOS Bronze, UNSW Distinction, ACS (I) Silver applied DSA. Went for the HAST and accepted into the camp, but in the end unsuccessful.

Why need to stress so much? Just apply first and see how it goes. Even if DSA not successful, still can apply after PSLE results is released.

depend on the test and also the 2nd selection. My DD did not even pass the 1st round last year but she did well in the PSLE and went to one top sec school.

make sure he is well prepare for the test to start. Finally , dont stress as it will affect his exam if he is rejected in the DSA.

What is he so stress about? I think no one other than the nush admission officials can give an accurate reply, there are always exceptions here and there. Besides i believe they look out for \"soft\" qualities through their camps.
Well he better learn to live with the stress, there will be pretty much of it if he enroll to nush successfully anyway =).

                    Hi mummyjoyce,

How did u prepare ur child for the test that time ?

My son did the SST HAST last week and comments that many of the math questions that came out appears to be sec math, eg, exponential, etc. I dun feel like spending too much time preparing for these tests. On the other hand, seems like it's not enough to only know up to p6 math 😞

Wonder how to prepare. As it is just a 4 months to PSLE, and now to prepare for new things??

DD just did the turn around and said she dunn want SST. Should i try to talk to her or let it be?

Anyway if the exam is about stuff taught in Sec it doesnt make sense. Do they want children who know more or have the potential to learn difficult concepts so that they can learn more. I tot that was the purpose of sec school - to teach you

This whole DSA thing is getting to my nerves, sigh!

How did your son know it appears to be sec math unless he seen sec math before? I mean it could be that the questions are borrowed from math olympiad, which will be more logical as it is not fair to test on sec math.
