      Time flew past

My son says the question was pick 3 word line x to line 39 that means regret? And he answered twinge of regret.

DS says the qn is to pick a 3 word line that means 'twinge of regret'. He put 'all too soon'.[/quote]My DS wrote \"all too soon\" too

Hi my DS wrote about losing the trust of his son for failing to turn up for his performance which he had promised to. Is this acceptable? So the topic is about losing something and not missing something?

This composition topic looks simple "something that was lost" but i personally feel that it is challenging as the theme was not given directly unlike past PSLE qns "teamwork", you know exactly what to write about. This type of composition is indirect. The child must be able to look at the topic "something that was lost" - link to picture - link to a theme. It is very broad and leave to child’s imagination on the theme that they want to write.

The theme can also be anything as long as the story make sense and use the picture.
                1) Being honesty/ integrity
                2) Being thankful/gratitude to the person finding the lost item
                3) Being responsible/accountability/carelessness
                Etc…
The child may not be able to score if they didn’t see that they need to link that the topic to a theme as it is indirect…

                  That’s fast , Thks 🙂
Can be easy if din think too much n think too hard
The avg majority kids may be writing lost Hp, or lost cat etc then score may be avg too- only one picture is needed with theme of losing something . writing abt character issues need maturity in Eng Lang n writing skills of the kid, can score v well if manage well

I wonder about the expectations of composition for our P6 kids .

Does a more mature theme like losing trust score more marks? Is the writing “better” because it involves uncommon or “deeper” meaning ?

                    Kids should be kids .

The plot is very fantastic if write about losing trust or integrity but i wonder how the writer could link it to one of the pictures in the compo? I thought that was essential ?

my kid says she wrote about losing her cat and her mother's trust because of it.

She is worried that this is too cliche. One of her friends (who already has DSA CO) wrote from the cat viewpoint of losing a home... That is more risky.
