I think end of the day, it depends on how the plot is linked back to at least one of the 3 pics. So long can link back, and the plot is reasonable, chances of out of point or get penalised is low. Of course don't write cock and bull stories lah like aliens suddenly appears from nowhere.

Will the child loose mark or off topic if he wrote this.

He comes back from school can’t find the beloved cat, search high n low , called the mum still cannot find, then the mum suggest to put up lost n found poster within the neighborhood. Finally the dad return home and says he had brought the cat to a vet and had forgotten to bring the cat back.
His ending is he will never ever lose this cat that meant the life to him.

But lose integrity?[/quote]Hmmmmm so sorry but I also don't have a definite yes or no answer, although personally I think maybe ok given that they are just primary school kids........ I think end of the day it depends on the marking guidelines and how the markers interpret the story.... The markers have a set of marking guidelines to follow........

Actually, honesty virtue is integrity.
The meaning (whether is honesty or integrity) is there, one can tell, from your son's story plot developed. When the Psle marker read your son's essay, they will know what he's trying to say. They may or may not penalize him that greatly, because the meaning that he trying to portray across is there. But depend on what the Psle marking guideline for English compo, say. Perhaps approach your son's English HOD, ask if happen to use wrong vocab expression, roughly what's the maximum they will penalize, if really the Psle markers are so strict in their marking. Some markers are more lenient, while others stick to the book. Normally for essay marking, one will mark first , give score. Another marker, will review the score given. So, the marks awarded in the end, will go through 2 markers. If there is any dispute between markers, they will bring up for team discussion. Your school's English HOD should be able to advise. Can ask your HOD

In Chinese Psle zuowen.
If let's say students happen to write some Chinese character words wrongly in zuowen, there is also a maximum number of marks, deductible.
