Haha..In fact, it is indeed scary. For the first draft proposal, usually it is very simple and less demanding, like 2 page include introduction, short literature review, research questions, and methodology for the research. Generally, once your dd is in this programme & attach with expert-mentor, by hook or by crook, she has to complete the programme, cannot change any SIA. Coz HSSRP is a privilege programme to be attached with a expert-mentor, the girl must persevere to work through it. The most important of all, the girl has to sign acknowledgement or commitment letter from MOE. They take very seriously in this programme. Hence, get prepared to prioritize HSSRP than the any other things that you think is equally important. Generally, the original proposal will be half-accepted by the expert-mentor, but to take note that the expert-mentor has their own ideas or plan that he/she wants the student to research on. Get prepare to follow suit what the expert-mentor expect or demand from the research paper.

Hi, anyone knows wat is "Structured Academic Support Programme" (for those who do not meet promotion criteria) and "Bridging Programme" mentioned recently in the principal’s letter? I thot tat those who fail the promotion criteria will have to repeat automatically?

For sec 1, if you do not meet the promotional criteria, you will move on to Year 2 but this will be reflected as \"advanced to Year 2\" rather than \"promoted to Year 2\" and you'll be placed under the compulsory structured supervised learning support program. For Year 2, if you do not meet the promotional criteria even by a tiny bit (say MSG 4.1), my understanding is that appeals usually do not work and you are advised to go to the SIP programme.

Can I check with NYGH parents, is there a concept of a Sec 3 IP moving on to Sec 4 O levels?

In HCI, if Sec 3 IP kid doesnt do well in Sec 3, and after re-exams still poor, you can technically drop to Sec 4 O level class.
There isn’t any structured academic support programme for Sec 2s though, as far as I know.

In nygh, if you fail sec 3 IP even after retest (min B3) you will be asked to SIP at sec 3 level. Yes, you lose a year.

Yes I think the bar is set higher in order to progress to Sec 4 IP (can't remember msg 2 or less).
