We have been researching quite a bit, and I also found this article provided very good info. However, IB vs A styles is still rather challenging to pinpoint for a 12yo.

      https://singaporelearner.com/2014/01/15/which-one-to-choose-the-ib-or-the-a-levels/

Just curious, why not NYGH if SNGS an option? NYGH and MGS will be on par on distance, and leave you to compare A vs IB merits seriously.

NYGH was also on our list, however after recce the journey and route, we rather consider RGS, St Nicks, MGS.
NYGH waslking route from mrt is rather far. Plus my gal isn't keen on NYGH so that goes out of list.[/quote]If your child isn't keen, then no point to force the issue. But NYGH is not bad for MRT connectivity, becos many students will take a bus for 1 or 2 stops going to or from the school (connecting to Sixth Ave / Tan Kah Kee station). Kinda similar to St Nicks, I think.

Hi, my son has a PSLE score of 249+2. Is the chance of going Catholic High high? (COP for Non-Aff last year is 249).
Very high chance (refer to last 5 years COP below) as his COP is 251 (249+2).

Congrats for such good results and all the best to your son! :rahrah:

        Catholic High O-Level Programme COP
        2020 - 249
        2019 - 251
        2018 - 251
        2017 - 250

Congrats to your DD for such good results :rahrah:

Do note that there is a ESIS (Sec 3) at end of Sec 2. If awarded, it will be 2 years (O-Level Programme) or 4 years (IP Programme).

                All the best!

Not 6 years lah... if your DD works hard, still got chance to get in 2023:

At the end of Secondary 2, nominated or shortlisted students can apply to take the ESIS test. Students who already received an ESIS (Secondary 1) award will not be eligible. Students who performed well in the ESIS test are awarded for:
2 years, if they are in the O-Level programme.
4 years, if they are in the 6-year programme.
This is subject to their good progress and conduct each year.

No worries, getting her to a desired / dream school is more important than S14.4K, haha, so make a wise choice now.

So ESIS COP this year is confirmed 261.

To know if you are top 10% of cohort, you are if you are offered to study a third language ( jap, German, Spanish and French )

Now that we have established that the top 3% of cohort T score is 261 (same as last year ).

Please share if T score 250 or 251 received offer to study third foreign languages ( French etc ).
