Ask your son, between ACSI and Dunman High, which school he prefer.

Anyway, most likely he will get in Hwa Chong, unless this year HCI COP move up

My dd got 260 and do not have ESIS!!! $2.4K x 6yrs = $14.4K gone! So near yet so far!!! Urgghhhhh

No worries, getting her to a desired / dream school is more important than S14.4K, haha, so make a wise choice now.

So ESIS COP this year is confirmed 261.

Yes, confirm ESIS COP is 261 as she has friends got 261 got it!

DD already got an entry ticket to NYGH via academic DSA. So, it's just the mom feeling a little bitter not having that subsidy of $2.4K per year... To feel better, i just gotta remind myself that i didn't really give her any tuition except chinese over the past 6 years, so save quite a fair bit here also!
WOW, congrats to your DD for having secured a place in NYGH! Ya 1 point more then you can get $2400 / year, haha, a lot of people are the same. Try at beginning of Sec 3 to get the remaining 4 year of ESIS if she performs well and passes the ESIS exam.
Cheers!

Hi, we have kind of decided on these schools and order by preference. I have quoted the latest year COP for reference here. Would appreciate kind parents for your advices on our ordering cos we are a bit uncertain if we sure can enter any of the schools here. Can I say that DS will most likely enter Dunman High and the 5th & 6th school is safe enough as safety net? our DS T-score 255, HCL +3 and we are looking at IP courses.

1. RI (259) - his dream school so he die die wants to try even though he know its almost impossible.
2. HCI (257)
3. ACSI (256) or Dunman High (255)
4. Dunman (255) or ACSI (256)
5. Catholic High (252)
6. River Valley High (253)

we couldn't decide between ACSI and DHS ordering. Cos if DHS is in 3rd, I think we can get in but the father prefers ACSI which is nearer to us with direct bus.
Consider if your son wants to take IB (ACSI) or A levels (DHS).

RI no chance, HCI half chance, ACSI half chance, Dunman High high chance, CHS & RV safe.
If you think of the order of ACSI & Dunman, not only the distance, but the IP IB and the cultures are quite different, go visit the schools twice and make final decision, no regrets after enrolled.
NJC could be one of the choice.

Yes, these 2 curriculum IB and A-level are so vastly different.

So are the two different school culture ACSI (\"Ang mo pai\") vs. Dunman High (very Chinesy oriented type )

Look on the bright side. At least she secured the place via DSA. If this year the COP is 261 or 262, then your DD would have missed it!

Her HCL +3 so shld still get thru to NYGH unless this year COP is 264.
Actually ESIS shld consider HMT as there's a lot of effort for the extra paper also!
Agree ! Should reward the student's efforts.

Hi everyone! My friend's boy got 228, can you share your advice on his choice of Sec schools, please? He is staying at Queenstown. Many thanks~

How about considering Gan Eng Seng Sec Sch - 227 cut off point or Queensway Sec Sch - 222?

Thanks for your advice, the two schools will be included in the list..
