ESIS 2020 - 261 ( 2019 - 261, 2018 - 260 )

= top 3% of cohort

3rd Lang 2020* - 252 ( 2019 - 250, 2018 - 252 )
* offered to SC / PR only
= top 10% of cohort

I guess the trick is:

a) don't know where the DSA kids are in the distribution.
b) don't know where the NUSH kids are in the distribution (subset of a) I guess)
c) boy and girl scoring patterns
d) preference behavior / demand for schools
e) combination of a), b), c), and d) which makes something crazy happen to any individual school

???

Seems like +/- 1 for most would be a good bet but I do not follow this year after year...

Hi, i scored 251 but did nit receive an offer for foreign language, only received offer for arabic, malay and bahasa
U mean u are offered third language but only category 1 (Malay) & 2 (Arabic/Bahasa Indonesia)? U don't see Cat 3?

My dd got in her eligibility letter, third language:-
- Category 1 : 09 - Malay
- Category 2 : 56 - Arabic / 58 - Bahasa Indonesia
- Category 3 : 06 - French / 07 - Japanese / 08 - German / 65 - Spanish

If so, there is COP for different categories of third languages?

Judging from the increased qualifying score for third language, I expect COP of above-average schools to rise.

That means
this year (2020) Top 10% Psle cohort stand at

252

the same,
as last year (2019) cohort

http://wwwdontmesswith6a.blogspot.com/2011/09/p6-prelim-results-and-expected-psle.html

Thanks! I really hope that this year's cut off will not change much.
IMHO, can ignore 2016 & earlier (DSA quota 50% compared to current 30 to 35%)

RI (with the exception of 2018) = ESIS - 2.
So 259

HCI (with the exception of 2018) = ESIS - 3 or 4.
So 258 or 257.

Of course there may be exceptions like those years that I pointed out.

Congrats for such good results and all the best to your son! :rahrah:

U r most welcome.

If we know the highest t score in most schools we may have an even clearer picture on how the 2020 cohort has fared as compared to previous years.

Yes, 2020 refers to t score achieved in 2020.

Hi,

i scored 251 but did not receive an offer for foreign language, only received offer for arabic, malay and bahasa
Because this year 2020 Psle batch (born 2008) Top 10% Cut-off was at

252

hence, only students who scored 252 & above,

qualify to study 3rd foreign language (Spanish / German/ French / Japanese), at MOELC (Bishan / Newton)

Those who do Not fall within Top 10 %, including students from Express / Normal stream, will still qualify to learn

Bahasa Indonesian / Malay / Arabic

==========================

Hi Random person,

your 251 Tscore is an excellent great score !

Unfortunately,
at 251, you have missed the Top 10% Psle cut-off at 252, by 1 point.

As such, cannot proceed
to learn 3rd foreign language at MOELC , but you can still learn

Bahasa Indonesian / Malay / Arabic, at MOELC premises
