I saw 四五快读 selling at one of chinese bookstore at the bookfair 2010 at Suntec. The whole set is about $68 . There were posters about 四五快读 on their wall too.

i have no connections with zhangping, but i remembered browsing her website and she is selling the whole set at $41++
for cheaper alternative, you can consider getting from her.

i did think initially of getting from her, but did not cos i am not sure if i need the whole set, so i bought separate singles from dangdang.

I remember dimsum let her son read the Basic 500 words first. It is easier to use, and more appealing to very young kids. There are no hard and fast rules, we have to be flexible and use methods that suit the child's ability and age.
Hmm... no harm getting the Basic 500 words since Popular is having 20% discount now. Thks!! 😉

yup yup! He started with Basic 500 words first. The pics really appealed to him. More suitable for your younger gal.

Hi, just to share some observations that dd has benefited by watching midst of 倚天屠龙记:

The following are parts of what she had learnt:

            明知山有虎,偏向虎山行
            明抢易挡,暗箭难防
            留得青山在,莫怕没柴烧 etc

She loves the show and likes to discuss the 情节 and 人物 of it. These really help to further improve her 理解与分折能力。E.g. I ask why 明教 choose to do this as such 生死关头? Her answer was: 三十六计,走为上计。

The show really benefits her and we would continue other 金庸 show after倚天屠龙记 and hope after this school holiday she could acquired a lot of 好词好句。
            hi

is this showing currently? which channel and which version is this?
on the lookout for nice period drama serial for my seven year old but not quite sure where or which to start looking at?

if anyone has any recomm for period or contemporary chinese dramas that are nice, have some comedy and not all abt loving and dying, please let me know.. thanks

Hi, what my dd watch is from the VCD. I bought the 倚天屠龙记 (presented in 简体字). This is the one of the method to train them read in CL words if they find the talking is too fast. It's quite effective as my dd can remember those 好词好句 as she started sending it in SMS to me.

I remember my very first 金庸 show is 书剑恩仇录 starring Adam Cheng 😉, I was only a few years old back then, but I liked the show very much.

oh yes, he was the lead role for many wu xia pian those days....

Adam Cheng also played 张无忌 before ! I like his version the best.
