Is her storyline girlish? Or has some adult contents?
Zhangmanjuan- perspective from a woman. I doubt my boy would appreciate her books.
Liuyong- perspective from a man, a father. Some books are in complex characters. Some talk abt man-woman marriage. Not so suitable too. Got some Father-son relationships. Borrowed one simple characters book but the layout is right to left, top to bottom.
Youjin- could not find her books in CCK lib.
Yishu- under xiaoshuo (story too long, I doubt my boy can finish reading this type given his command of the language).
Btw the lib catalogue for sanwen is C814.3 xx, xiaoshuo is xx (xx denotes author's initials). -

My boy has started reading two chapters (one chapter only 2 pages
) after I nagged and nagged.
Is your boy's tutor going to recommend a book for him?
The book we borrowed of this particular author Liu Yong is quite easy to read. Out of the 2 pages, only 2 - 3 phrases he does not understand. -

my son says that the books in the recommended booklist are not compulsory. They can select their own books. But maybe i'll still bring him to the library tomorrow. Which did you say is good? -

She said either the 冰心 ones or 尤今. hai, why the booklist printed teh 尤今 name wrongly... Anyway, we got a 尤今, bc that is a singapore writer, so the language might be more what we are used to. Also, the 冰心 books look so old. -

Hi,I’m a student here and would like some opinions on NJC such as the teachers,workload etc. Considering the school for DSA(yes a bit late,i know).Been browsing through the pages since evening.On page 84 now.
Should I consider this school for DSA Academics? My results ranged like this:
English: 86.8/100 (Top: 87.3/100)
Maths: 93/100 (Top: 98/100)
Science: 77/100 (Top: 84.5/100)
Chinese: 87.3/100 (Top: 91+/100)
HCL: Merit
My results are mediocre but I really wish to get into NJC. Please advise! TIA!
