Are there any co-ed schools that are guaranteed place for 2C <1km? Just wondering cos I wasn’t researching co-ed at that time.[/quote]Guaranteed place - plenty, but I guess you are referring to those popular schools only.floppy\" post_id=\"2011643\" time=\"1610301045\" user_id=\"97579:
Both options are quite bad to be honest.Hi I'm newbie🤗
Would like to ask as we sold our house in punggol and consider move to BoonKeng
for Hong Wen or new condo in Hougang for Holy innocent. My SG50 boy only eligible for 2C for both option. Any review or advice? Thks!
For Phase 2C, you are at most guaranteed a chance of balloting if you are < 1km. Above 1km, you won’t even stand a chance. Given that the risk of being balloted out is high (slightly better odds than 50% for Hong Wen, slightly lower than 50% for Holy Innocent), it may not be really worth the $ and time.
If you are really going to do the tikam-tikam, you may as well go for CHS, ACSJ, ACSP or SJIJ at probably similar odds. Otherwise, pick a school (such as SAJS or MSHS) where you are almost guaranteed of a place so that the $ and time isn’t wasted.
In and around the same vicinity as Hong Wen and Holy Innocent, there’s Yangzheng in Serangoon and Kuo Chuan Presbyterian in Bishan (although last year was a surprise as KCP required balloting for SC < 1km). Teck Ghee and Anderson in Ang Mo Kio are fairly popular schools that are usually guaranteed for SC < 1km. In Toa Payoh, there’s Kheng Cheng, whose popularity may have dropped over the years but I think it’s more of an issue with being situated in an old estate with little to no renewal. -
Hi,
Would like to get opinions from people here.
My SG50 girl is entering P1 next year and here are my options:
1. Phase 2A1 - Canossa Catholic Pri Sch (abt 11km from home)
2. Phase 2A2 - Zhonghua Primary (10km from home)
3. Phase 2C - Mee Toh School (<1km from home, staying at the block beside the school)
I’m in a dilemma because of location. -

IMO, ballot Mee Toh Phase 2C <1km, if unsuccessful, go for nearest school in 2CS with vacancies.

Hi everyone, my 2015 kid will be enrolling in P1 next year and I am considering between West Spring and Beacon. We stay within 1km but looks like Phase 2C has been very competitive for West Spring, not to mention its SG50 batch so I’m a little worried. Beacon is my 2nd choice, and from past history it looks quite safe to secure a slot in Phase 2C?
My husband is an ex student of Zhenghua Primary School but I am not as keen in it as it is further for us. However if we choose this school, we can register under Phase 2A2 which is more of less quite secured.
I’m just worried coz its SG50 batch and I’m not sure how it will plan out. Any advice on the above? -

If your backup is Beacon and you are within 1km of the school, there’s probably nothing much to worry about. For past few years, Beacon places aren’t even fully taken up, even after Phase 2CS.

Your option would probably be ballot at West Spring in 2C, failing which pick Beacon at 2CS. -

Apply Cedar. Because you have ZERO chance at Hong Wen. -
Hi gurus, our girl is 2016 girl which will be due for P1 registration in 2023. We plan to enroll her for RGPS under 2B. We are staying out of 2km. Based on recent years stat, i think it looks quite safe until i see the chart from KSP today in this link
https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/article/2020-p1-registration-for-2021-intake-balloting-probability/?fbclid=IwAR2ZesZfy7Fyy_5RgAfkU9lfq77WjfrikEaHw2OaLPEzniaxLHpZfnuIA98
showing green 0.01 under 2B in which green refers to likely to ballot outside 2km. Does that mean we need to reconsider our plan?
